LE Customizable Map markers

I was fishing up North of Dawnstar and found a fantastic fishing spot. I'd like to be able to make a note on my map. The only marking option I have is a SINGLE, unnamable marker, which assumes I have nothing else I'd like to mark, ever.

 

In addition to simply marking items I want to, it would be lovely too to have the option to use *only* player-created marks, forcing the player to mark things by name as they find them. Possibly offer a selection of different mark types, (house, tree, tower, etc,) either on the player map, or on some stand-alone map of some kind.

I too have been hunting for a custom map marking mod. one where i can make little notes of my own to remember things even as simple as my treasure stashes or where i left my horse or an npc id like to go back to later.

 

Maybe someone in the community can enlighten me and others as to, is it too difficult to create mod of this sort? Im kind of surprised that one has not been made already.

 

Anyone with any help on this?

I really wish I was a code-head, but alas... No. Apparently, injecting ANYTHING from inside the game, (text in particular,) is extremely difficult if not impossible with this engine. (Kinda funny, since much clunkier engines seem to handle it fairly easily....)

 

I REALLY hope some brilliant code wizard steps up to the challenge. I have faith in them- There is no "impossible" for our modding community- only things that haven't been solved YET. :D

What a great idea FathomsDeep. I always end up thinking that I'll remember a certain place that I've fallen in love with, and then of course, I forget. Or I write it down and lose the paper somewhere along the way. Hope that one of our great modders will take this on because I think it's an idea that really EVERYONE could use and enjoy! :)
