  1. *slaps her arm and twitches at the familiar phrase, "just one more!"* I started my gaming life back in Neverwinter Nights, which thrived on a robust modding community, and NOT being able to mod most games is what kept me from playing other things. So glad that modding has become the norm, and grateful to Nexus for making it so!
  2. I use the targeting mod on my helm, and I prefer to only wear it in the field/in combat. I like to take it off when I'm in cities and settlements, and when I'm talking to people, so they aren't all glowy, and so I'm not so creepy and scary. I can open inventory, sort, scroll, and remove it, then rinse and repeat when I'm about to head out into the world, but a hotkey toggle to put my helmet on and take it off would be fantastic, and save me a lot of inventory fussing. I'm not a codey-type, myself, but it seems like something that wouldn't be terribly difficult to achieve. Does such a mod exist, or could it?
  3. Bad enough the various indignities they've perpetrated upon our lovely Pipboys, but the hotkeys for things like map, inventory, etc, aren't toggles. WHY? M opens map.. but doesn't close it. WHY!? Foolishness.
  4. So, I'm tailing this guy... most of you know the guy, and he's on the other side of a WALL, and I'm inside a building.... and he's complaining through the wall that I should leave him alone. Seriously? So... Danse doesn't like when I do chems... I wait until he's in another room to jack my psycho, and get the helpful information that "Danse hated that". Again. REALLY? Steal something, or break and enter, even though you're perfectly hidden, and there are no witnesses... and everyone in town suddenly hates you. What the HELL?! And yet, I clank around in power armor in "sneak" and the gunner whose head I'm taking aim at is mostly clueless. Right. Totally makes sense. This is right up there with goats reporting crime. Somebody- pretty please? A fix for this?
  5. Originally, the Clean Up Your Corpses mod for Skyrim allowed all of the above (minus the costumes, sorry, boys  ) You could bury your friends, and leave a memorial marker, or burn them on a respectful pyre, you could set your foes' corpses aflame, or even stake them up as a warning to your remaining enemies...
  6. I know there are several radio station replacers out there, but I thought I'd toss out a concept for another: A "Freedom Radio" with less martial/brass band Patriotic-themed music... One with American Folk. Acoustic renditions of classic American folk songs, songs about the underground railroad, songs about coal mining and being dirt poor... you get the idea. Anything Americana that isn't played by a brass band!
  7. Something like Clean Up Your Corpses from Skyrim would be great. (Minus the new mini-game that mod has developed into. :( )
  8. Yup- lots of children in Diamond City. TWO are traders, actually. There's a retex mod out. Vivid Wasteland I think it's called? There's a mod to remove protagonist's voice as well. Also a mod that removes all voices, I believe, and several offerings that simply change the protagonist's voice. And of course, there's the "yell about Shaun all the time" mod, too. XD I am so down with you on the bows though- Boombro, if you think guns are entirely superior to bows in every way, in every case, then you flunked out of bow appreciation class! Bows are nearly silent. Bows require no chemical explosions to do their dirtywork. A well-made composite or crossbow is easily as powerful as many handguns, and often has twice the range. Plus? Lots of people are more comfortable with bows than guns in the real world, and lots of people whould be far more likely to build their own bow than build their own guns. I know I would!
  9. More everything for Dogmeat- yes yes! And let us throw things for him to chase! Whenever I've left him in the settlement too long, I take him out for a run. It'd be great to praise him, and to play with him, or even have treats- bones, snacks, etc, to offer him.
  10. I love to build awesome tower defense walls.. but I can't tell my settlers- "man the wall!" I'd love to be able to set "guard post" points that don't use the prefab guard posts.
  11. How about an Auto-loot? (One button, loots everything within 20 feet or so.) Allow it to choose loot all, loot only corpses, loot only containers, no-loot locked.
  12. Maybe it's just me, but text pops onto the screen, then vanishes, before i've had a chance to even register what it's said- even pop ups that are only a few words, I frequently miss, because my attention was elsewhere. It would be great if we could set the fade/disappear time on pop-text, or have some way to log it in game, so if you miss a pop, you can just call it up again.
  13. Settlers sometimes get killed. Raiders, gunners, and others, get killed a lot at settlements. Corpses take a long time to despawn. It'd be nice to have a way to build a little graveyard for fallen allies, and maybe a pit to toss enemies' corpses into. Maybe with fire. XD
  14. In response to post #30273515. #30274415, #30274870, #30277800, #30294940 are all replies on the same post. I vote for bathroom-tile turquoise. :D
  15. Uninstall/re-install didn't help me, but wiping the temp data under Black tree Gaming did. Unfortunately it did also register the uninstall of every mod, which required a complete reinstall of everything. On the bright side, I didn't have to re-download it all, at least.
  16. I just spent 45 minutes juggling files, moving them around and poking them in various ways, only to find this. Seems like this should be an easy fix for the mod author, who's obviously brilliant, to judge by this beautiful mod. It's been nearly a year since this was pointed out. Can I make a formal request that the internal name of the file be corrected, so that it shows up in the same place as it's patches, under it's common name? :ermm:
  17. Very excited by all the progress, and have total faith you'll have it running like clockwork asap! I do notice that you were working on the tracked files - I noticed because I have discovered all my tracked files have vanished. I'm not in a panic over it- minor inconvenience, really, but thought you might need to know. All my best mojo to you and the team for a speedy and efficient recovery! :)
  18. Well, here's something new I'm trying: I traced CW02a to an xml dialog trigger, so I backed up, then renamed that xml, and ran a validation from Steam. It came up with missing/damaged files, and is currently replacing them. We'll see if it works, I suppose, and I'll drop word here if it does, for anyone else who's struggling with this issue. No joy. (And I had to manually restore the xml from the back-up, since apparenlty it wasn't one of the files Steam found that needed to be replaced.)
  19. Apparently, it would be something from a mod, some mod which I've had for months, and didn't remove before starting the new game. As I said- I didn't want to start completely fresh. Doing that would require a complete wipe of my mod collection, which in the end I may need to do anyhow, but it's daunting, since I have a lot,and I'm very fond of all of them. Also, clearing them all would mean starting a game, and playing through a dozen levels or so in a naked, vanilla game, which would suck. Skyrim unmodded... is just a whole lot less awesome. It was my hope that someone who saw these posts would be familiar with the specific problem, and know which mod actually broke the script. Thanks to you both for trying, at least. :)
  20. I wasn't, no. But I recently installed The Civil War Overhaul, in hopes it might FIX this problem... no such luck. Still broken. :(
  21. It seems like it must be simpler than that, shadowform- I mean, couldn't one just reference whatever script sends those silly condolance letters? You know.. where someone dies, and you get a letter from the Jarl and 90 septims or something...? That script already exists, so obviously the game keeps track of who's died... Maybe someone could simply set up an MCM menu that accesses whatever the game already references?
  22. Wow- sorry I failed to find my original thread and reposted the request. KanesGhost: I was not previously using any civil war mods, though I actually installed The Civil War Overhaul in hopes it would actually fix this. It didn't. (Of course.) Lord Garon: cw02a won't start at all. I take the oath, Tullias tells me to go get outfitted and oh, by the way, Rikke has a project for me... then nothing. Tried leaving to get my armor, coming back... still nothing. And I don't even have the quest. It's just not there at all. I tried starting it, (player.setstage cw02a 10,) and it seemed to accept the command, but nothing changed. I then tried the same, but with the stage set to 20... still nothing. And now just for something to try, I attempted with the Stormcloaks, and the same thing happens. Are you saying I need to apply the setstage to Rikke, and not to myself? Worth a shot, I guess....
  23. I've been trying for weeks to get The Jagged Crown to start, and nothing I have done seems to work. I have tried with both Legion and Stormcloaks, and in both cases, right after taking the oath (for either side,) the representative, (Rikke or whatshisname,) will not give me the quest to fetch the crown. I have tried almost everything, including starting a new game, attacking Rikke then yielding, talking to them from different positions, uninstalling the USKP... I have even tried starting the quests from the console, and it wouldn't start from any point. :( I do admit, I'm hesitant to uninstall all my mods, because there are a lot of them, and several are complicated installs/uninstalls, (UFO, Battle Fatigue, Deadly Dragons, etc...) although that is next on my list of things to try. It's my hope that someone here will know what causes this to save me hours of mod-tweaking. Any suggestions, before I start gutting my mod collection?
  24. What do you mean by reinstalling? Reinstalling Skyrim or reinstalling Throwing Weapons? And it's happening with me on annything I drop, not just weapons (vanilla books, modded armor, etc.). Sorry I took so long to reply- hope you already fixed the issue, but in case not, I meant the mod. Runningaround's fix instructions for the throwing weapons mod were: "Deactivate. Enter game, save. Reactivate, load, play..." And no... this bug/conflict affects EVERYTHING, not just weapons. If you have it installed, and stuff disappears when dropped then it is likely the culprit.
