Gdoug
If you create a new game, does it put your saves in a separate folder? Or are all your saves jumbled together and you have to switch characters by just loading different saves? Thanks!
sgman1
Yes. But seriously dude, check out it yourself. It isn't that hard. You didn't have to waste your bandwidth for it. Now that your here though, it indeed does save all files together. There are no different folders for different characters.
Gdoug
But seriously dude, check out it yourself. It isn't that hard. You didn't have to waste your bandwidth for it. And if trying it overwrote my existing character, I'd feel pretty stupid for not asking first, now wouldn't I? This question is *not* the sort of thing you just 'try yourself' - not when you are making sure the experiment is safe and won't delete your current character. Thanks for your answer. I appreciate it. As for bandwidth: All 3 posts in this thread are a total of about 1.7 kb. There is no bandwidth issue here. I have no idea why you felt the need to attack me for asking the question. sgman1
Bethesda used to always just have all the save files tucked under one saves folder in my documents with all the config files for Morrowind and Oblivion. They didn't really make an effort to change some of the basic things in Skyrim. Structure is mostly the same. You could have just you know made a few dozen files and checked to see where they would have gone. I mean I'm just saying, no offense meant. But as you can infer from my explanation you clearly CAN do this by yourself. And as for the bandwidth thing, the ludicrousness of the statement should have made obvious my tone. ;) But if you want me to play along and attack: THEN WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN INTERNET RUNS OUT SPACE!? 1.7 KB will be very precious then! THEN WHO WAS GOING TO BE PHONE!?
Rabbit1251
Unless you are used to keeping a large number of saved games you can always just name them what you please. Open you game console (the tilde key) and type "save xxx" with the x's being whatever you want. Then Enter and close the console. If you want a two word name for your save type save "xxx xxx" with the name enclosed in quotes like my example. Name them for your various characters and you will not become confused. That's the way I keep all of my various characters straight Also, I think that someone may have uploaded a save game organizer to the Nexus a while back, but I do not remember for sure nor what it may even been called. Sorry for my short memory. I hope that this helps some. Rabbit
Gdoug
And as for the bandwidth thing, the ludicrousness of the statement should have made obvious my tone. ;) Sadly that was lost on me, because I've seen even more ludicrous statements that some internet weenie made with total seriousness. My apologies. :) THEN WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN INTERNET RUNS OUT SPACE!? 1.7 KB will be very precious then! THEN WHO WAS GOING TO BE PHONE!? THINK OF THE CHILDREN! THE CHILDREN!!!!!!!!! Ok, you convinced me.
