Question about FOT refrence in FO3

Something that could be considered a spoiler by some contained herein:

 

 

I believe in the Brotherhood citadel someone mentioned they had to deal with super mutants back west (Fallout 1 and 2's settings) then in Chicago (The setting of Fallout Tactics) before here wouldn't that mean Beth would be acknowledging Fallout Tactics as Canon ? ( :sick: Hairy Deathclaws? how is that a big jack liz?) and Is my memory correct?

It doesnt neccessarily mean they recognise it as cannon, though you can only find that out by asking Beth, but that they acknowledge that something happened in the west

Yes but Chicago is Eastern and they mentioned it right?

The main events in Tactics that did not contradict 1&2 are considered Canon. Hence the Chicago reference.

So whilst minor things that affected or counterdicted the main plot were not canon it has been accepted that Tactics itself happened?

 

 

because Vault 0 didn't make sense. And The brotherhood's supposed origins in Tactics are vastly different from Canon

Well, the BOS obviously had to cross the Midwest to hit the East Coast, and Chicago would've been a good base of operations... even if Tactics isn't canon, the basic premise is sound enough.
