Making Mission UFOs visible...

Its a simple INI tweak, I know

 

ShowUFOsOnMission=0

Detect the UFOs that are carrying out abductions and terror missions BEFORE they start them, this allows you to shoot down the UFO's before hand.

 

 

But what do I have to do that it has an effect ingame? Just editing the gamecore.ini doesnt work, so I need to use the mod patcher?

That doesnt change much anything either :psyduck: (tried to alter soldier hp for a quick result)

Change

ShowUFOsOnMission=0

to

ShowUFOsOnMission=1

 

and use modpatcher.

 

You actually will see alien battleships on terror missions, if they try terror missions against places you have a satellite.

 

You won't see abductors on abduction missions, however, because the aliens don't run abductions in countries where you have a satellite. Changing that takes UPK surgery.

Thats clear, my problem is an other.

 

Using the modpatcher doesnt seem to alter anything. I tried to tweak the HP for my classic soldiers for some fast result, as I stated, and nothing happend after running the modded exe.

 

Did you put your changes into DefaultGameCore.mod in your binary/win32 folder?

Did you take the necessary steps to prevent XCom from "phoning home" via Steam and overwriting your changes?

Are you aware that "classic" in DGC.ini refers to "Impossible" difficulty, while "Hard" actually refers to "Classic?"
