I ran into a crab on my way to speak with the al'aquir (spelling) for the saadia quest, and was battling it, when a sabre cat started whacking me from behind. I dispatched the crab, then turned around and dispatched the sabre cat (rather quickly btw, I was using dual swords which I'd enchanted with a soul stealer and fire damage respectively). Immediately upon the cat's death, I hear the cha-ching! noise of coins, and the notification shows that I was awarded (or got or something) 300 gold pieces. I only then looted both the crab and the sabre cat. Just thought it was strange to get coin in that way and figured I' d share in case anyone else has gotten that sort of thing or might have an idea of what happened.
