VikingII
By the launcher I changed the resolution to 1680x1050, but in game the resolution is the default (I think 1280x800). I have also checked the FalloutPrefs.ini:iSize W=1680iSize H=1050 This problem began when I deleted the Fallout 3 folder from My documents (because I want a fresh game start) Is there another way to set the resolution besides the two I say here? BlackRampage
What's your desktop resolution? If it's also 1680x1050, then you could give this mod a try: Fake Fullscreen Mode Windowed
Qualanqui
Totally agree but also in conjunction try setting through the .ini then go to falloutlauncher -> options and uncheck the windowed and v-sync boxes and then set your resolution and you should be away giggling
VikingII
The problems ends when I restore the backup of my "my documents" folder, I can't understand why, but I want to know. What could be the problem with that folder? #BlackRampage, thanks, this mod is a great idea and also for optimization. But I want to know why that is happens. #Qualanqui, yes, I checked out all of the launcher data before I asked in the forum, that is just like you say (and I also have deactvate VSync in the .ini
bben46
Use the native resolution of your monitor - if it does not support the resolution you try to force a wrong resolution, it will default to closest resolution below that available. If you can force your graphics to a higher than native resolution through settings on your graphics card, then it will have problems such as video artifacts and sync if forced as everything must be translated through the graphics card to get that higher resolution. The specification of the monitor will show it's native resolution. For example, many HDTVs have a native resolution of 1366x768, or 1440x1080. many inexpensive monitors 1600x1024. Most mid range monitors will be around 1680x1050 - with high end at over 2000x1400 at a 4:3 or 8:5 aspect ratio. And maxed out (changes nearly weekly) 7680x4800 at 8:5 ratio. Also, not every graphics card will support all resolutions - be sure to check on yours. And use the option to not show any resolutions not supported when you select resolution for the game
VikingII
Yes, this is the native resolution of my monitor, and I have been playing Fallout 3 in this resolution until I deleted the My Documents Fallout 3 folder... When I restore the backup, the problem was solved. Today I have uninstalled all Fallout, mods and everything, and reinstalled again, and this problem not happened again. So, maybe Fallout 3 is sensitive to it's folder deletion?
