Can ENBoost cause mods to stop working?

I have had a suddn problem with a few mods suddenly not working and I am trying to figure out why. The only change I made to my game was the addition of the EnBoost. I had downloaded no new mods

The mods in question are Astral merchant and Chest, AddItemMenu and Beinz Portables. All of these mods just no longer work at all.

AddItemMenu no longer adds its functions into my inventory at the start of the game.

Astral books are still buyable and still add their powers when I read them but when I activate the powers nothing happens.

And Portables simply does not appear in my mcm menu anymore.

I had not used Portables for quite some time but activated it just after I installed EnBoost to use in a new playthrough. it had worked perfectly a couple of months ago.

What I'm wondering is if one of the changes that you need to make to ini files in order to use the EnBoost could conflict with these mods. Has anyone else had any such issues?

Thanks for the suggestion and I almost went to do that but I have since discovered that the problem is with NMM.

it would seem I installed EnBoost the same night that NMM updated to its latest version and the new version is messed up. Any mod not active before the update and any mod downloaded after it simply do not work. I even tried downloading a couple of simple texture mods and after starting the game they did not appear in game. When I went back out and open NMM the mods were not active in my list.

it is almost like NMM became frozen in time when it updated and wont allow anything new. Manual downloads might work but I avoid them like the plague as I generally mess them up anyway.

I guess I will just have to wait for the next update and hope it gets fixed. Either that or re-install it. At least I know what the problem is now.

ENB should not affect your game in that way. Before installing any Skyrim mod, make sure to read the instructions provided by the modder. You can try manually downloading the mods and installing them using either Wrye Bash (which I prefer from the Oblivion era) or Mod Organizer. I haven't used NMM so far, but I can hear that people have issues with it.

Yes a lot of ppl seem to have issues with NMM but personally I prefer it for its simplicity. This is the first issue i have ever had with it over the last 3-4 years using it. Fixing the problem was easy as I just had to redownload it and not update to the latest version. everything is back working just fine now. I have letft a message on github about the issue I had (not the only one it seems either) so hopefully they can fix it on the next update.

I really didn't think that ENBoost could cause such an issue but it was the only change I remembered making at the time which is why I asked the question. Totally forgot about the NMM update
