Lock lists?

Recommended Posts

What is the use of lock lists? Are they used to ease the navmesh in a interior cell?

If I put a key in the inventory of a npc, but dont put him in a lock list, will he still open the door?

Are lock lists needed for internal doors? For example, a building with apartaments inside it: each door have its own key. A key to the exterior is shared by the npcs living there. There is a lock list for this shared key, but none for the inner doors. Will the npcs still use them?

All I know is that lock lists are formlists. You make a locklist, assign certain NPCs to it, who live there or use it a lot and in the 'World\Cells\Cellname' you can assign this lock-list to the cell.

Basically, the last NPC on the list that leaves the cell causes the exterior load doors doors to be locked.* It has something to do with trespassing as well, so if the NPC in a house is in a lock List, they'll tell the player to leave at certain times. I haven't really used it so I don't know much more.

* since I haven't used it I don't know if the exterior load doors need to be assigned a specific Loc Ref Type, or if they all get locked automatically. useful for houses, shops etc.
