New Graphics Card

Recommended Posts

So i finally got my New Graphics Card in after i had to RMA the old one, and right out of the box it was better. i think the old one, at stock was something like 925Mhz/1250Mhz and idr the stock Voltage. Whereas the new one was 1000Mhz/1250Mhz @ 1.19V. so Out of the box, is was better. as soon as i got the card, i installed the 12.11 Beta Drivers and started running benchmarks. so without further ado, here are the benchmarks at stock voltages just for comparison.

Graphics Card: Gigabyte 7950 3GB

and those are all at stock settings. now i have to mention something here. Yesterday when i did OC benchmarks, i had it at 1150Mhz/1575Mhz at stock clocks today when i tried it again, FurMark would fail about 10% in, and Unigine would start glitching as well after about maybe 5 stages in or so. so i backed it down to 1125Mhz and FurMark would still fail roughly the same spot (it would throttle down and back up again) but Unigine would Benchmark and run fine for the half hour i ran it for. as well as all other tests. so i think im stable here (i have yet to test any games yes) but i dont have a FurMark test while OCed. but anyways, these test are at 1125Mhz/1575Mhz @ 1.19V. as long as the card stays stable here when i finally play games, i probably wont change it any further. i dont feel like messing with the voltages this time around,

and this Unigine Score i just wanted to test with what i feel like would be more average settings. before everything was maxed out, whereas this was everything set somewhere in the middle basically. i didnt run this test before OC but here it is anyways.

thank you all for checking out my benchmarks. if any of you know why FurMark would fail and others would not, and/or if thats really an issue, your knowledge would be appreciated....also if anyone wants me to run some benchmarks for any games lmk. i have some of the more common Games used for Benchmarks. i dont have BF3 or Skyrim (yet) but i do have other games like Metro 2033, the Batman Games, all Crysis games, Guild Wars 2, Star Craft 2, the Fallouts, the Dragon Ages, and others.

thanks all :D

Congrats man! When I saw your heaven bench I knew I had to post my scores, but unfortunately unigine keeps crashing on the final stage of the benchmark for some strange reason.

Anyways again congrats.

Maybe now that our setups are done we can have a friendly battle-station competition. I have almost got mine ready to go, just waiting on my extra monitors and new desk lol

i still have a little ways to go before im "done"....still wanna get an H100i, so i can overclock my CPU. wanna replace my fans. they arent loud, but i wanna be able to say i have the best fans hahaha. would like to get a side panel window for my Case. Fractal had announced a window option for the Arc Midi a long time ago (it uses the same side window as the Fractal R4) but last i knew they werent selling them yet, and idk when they will. but i want one when they do. then ill put some nice LED strip lights in there....also wanna get a small UPS as well, help protect my computer more from Surges and so i can save games or work if the power goes out. lol.....also when i build my Parents a PC (in a few months) ill be buying new RAM, probably get 1600 or something just for poops and giggles, and give them my 1333 RAM lol :P

first desktop ive ever owned or built. always had an Asus laptop before this (a "gaming" one) so yea. really happy how things are coming along with it and i look forward to being able to continue with the small goals i have left for it :D
