Normal clothes for RP?

I was wondering if there was a way to obtain ordinary clothing like the city elf wedding dress purely for roleplay and immersion purposes? At least, more than what you get from Sten. I like the idea of the party relaxing at camp after a hard day's fight to talk and things, but other than the stuff Sten wears I can't find any. Are there other places to loot/buy various types? Or should I be looking for a mod?

Note: I play as a female Dalish warden.

If you don't mind using the developer console, I have scripts to add the various clothing items to the player inventory. You can download them from the 'Miscellaneous files' area of my DAO Clothing References (which you may find useful for identifying which clothing appearance is which).

There are a very few clothing items that can be obtained during the course of the game (the commoner clothing worn by Sten, the wedding outfit from the City Elf origin, commoner clothing in both Dwarf origins, Chantry robes worn by Leliana, and, IIRC, Marjolaine will sometimes drop noble clothing).

As far as I know, there's no mod which adds a range of clothing immersively (via a merchant or loot drops)... that was always on my modding to-do list, but I never got around to it. :-(

Oh I don't mind that at all! Though I admit I'm not very familiar with the console. But I'm sure there are guides on how to enable it, and a small hack like this will hardly break the game experience. Thank you, I really appreciate it!

Yeah okay, I'm doing something wrong. I found a tutorial for the console and tested it successfully by giving myself 50 gold, but when I try your runscripts it tells me that it can't run them.

Specifically, it says: Failure, no such script

Edit: Okay, I fixed the error, but it still won't add items to my inventory. I'm very confused.

Edit 2: I FIGURED IT OUT! XD

So if any other console command scrub is stuck like I was, the trick is to install the additem mod and when you run your script make sure you make it look like this: runscript additem (name of thing's file).uti (number of items desired).

I now have a lovely copy of the elf wedding dress and some noble clothing for Alistair to wear. I may go back for more for Leliana or Oghren later, but that's good enough for now.

My scripts don't use or require the 'additem' script mod, so I have no idea why you had trouble using them. :ermm:

In any event, I'm glad you got it sorted out.

Hey kytrin! In addition to what Sky suggested, there are mods that will add areas to your DAO campaign that will include various sets of noble clothing in the locations. This one https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/552 and this one if I remember correctly: https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/1414. If you want, you can even make (somewhat) customized clothes using the Toolset. You'll have access to the standard types of clothing in the game (i.e., noble, commoner, mage/chantry robes). If you play around w/ the armor tiers you can get some pretty interesting colors for them. For instance, using the "inscribed" armor tier yields purple clothing which looks great as a noble clothing dress for a female warden. If you want "regular" clothes for camp wear for immersion's sake, there's also this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/4610.

Enjoy!

Huh, for some reason your last two links don't work. When I click on them I get an error page.

Regardless, I really appreciate the link to Warden's Estate! I will definitely see about installing that!

I unfortunately don't have the faintest idea how to install or use the toolset. Most of the information I looked at on it is several years old and the links don't work anymore. So for now I'll work with what I have and use headcannon to fill in the gaps lol! I'm fairly new to the Dragon Age fandom, which makes me very late to the party, but I am loving it so far regardless and don't mind working around the various gaps until I'm more familiar with things.

If these links don't work, just click on FIREFLY11's links and backspace over the garbage after the number ie: 1414

Hey again, kytrin! As for the links, what olnorton said. Sorry if you got an error message--I just copied & pasted & that usually works so . If you want the Toolset, you can download it here http://www.datoolset.net/wiki/Community:Toolset_source_files. Just click on "CDN" where you see Dragon Age Toolset v1.01. That's how I got mine. Can't recall what else I did since it's been a while, but it couldn't have been too difficult. If a computer dunce like me can install it, there's hope for anyone. And I hear you on getting to the party late--I was a console player all my life until I saw some vids of DAO mods on YouTube & realized what I'd been missing out on, so you're not alone. Enjoy the mods & have a blast in Ferelden!

Best regards,
