trevorm96
I am trying to get to minefield for Moira quest, however when I get close to the overpass, the game crashes to desktop. Approximately parallel to Agatha's shack. The same thing happens when I try to fast travel there, or any other place on that side of the map. This happens in both the steam version, GOG, and the retail. Only running Fose. Does anyone have a idea to fix this. M48A5
FOSE works by changing the Fallout.esm by extending the scripts. The Windows User Account Control will prevent any changes to be made to any file that is installed in Program Files. Did you ever run the game from falloutlauncher.exe to set the graphics and create the .ini files? Are you launching the game through FOSE? If you do not move the game install out of Program FIles, you will continue to have problems as you mod the game. Some people have the game installed in My Games. I have mine installed at C:Bethesda Softworks\Fallout3. Also, you do not need the game installed in anything related to Steam. It is not now nor has it ever been a Steam dependent game. There are instructions on Steam that will tell you how to move the game. When you get the game moved and ready to play, you should always launch the game through fose_loader.exe or through your mod manager. M48A5
The game will run under program files. It's just that any mod that changes any part of the fallout program won't work.
