Zod976
I started over fresh with my favorite mods and wanted some advice on a spellsword build for my breton(I love bretons :D) or at least I think it is but anyways here is my planned specs: One-handedDestructionRestorationAlterationEnchanting or the skyrim calculator link: http://skyrimcalculator.com/#243459 Those are the main ones I want focus on, dragonskin/ebony for damage reduction and the only spells I will dual cast for now. I don't plan on exploiting anything especially 0 magicka cost. I am wanting to use conjuration's bound sword but I am unsure if I should waste 2 perks to upgrade it and I planned on using heavy armor with a cloth/hood/circlet helmet but I am not sure if I should bother since I will strictly be using dragonskin/ebony for protection. Would appreciate any advice on what could be changed for the better or even stuff I don't need. Edited January 15, 2013 by Zod976
Rooker75
If you're not going to level up smithing, I wouldn't bother with armor. You'll get better protection from the mage armor perks. And it lets you avoid the heaviness of the armor without using the Steed Stone. I did a game like that recently, when I was testing out one of my own mods. I chose a Redguard though, maxed out one-handed and archery, used Bound Sword and Bound Bow and didn't use Destruction at all. I've never mixed Destruction magic with melee combat, except to throw ice spikes at dragons who refuse to land. I did once do a maxed out archer who used Destruction up close and it worked fairly well.
Zalman1337
I would skip the Atronach perk unless you NEVER plan on using any Conjuration summoning spells (soul trap and bound weapon spells are unaffected). Spell absorption blocks summoning spells x% of the time (where x is your Spell Absorption). If you plan on using Heavy or Light armor, you should also focus on Smithing (ideally something that is also affected by a perk). If you don't, having 3/3 Mage Armor would be ideal since the most you can get is 300 Armor from Ebonyflesh. You should also decide between Smithing and Conjuration. Bound weapons are nice early on but ultimately do not scale as well as weapons that can be affected by Smithing perks (it's also kind of annoying having to recast bound weapons every couple of minutes). Edit: you should also consider Destruction Dual Casting and Impact because Impact is amazing (unless you're set on using a weapon main hand and spell off hand or vice versa all the time).
