TyburnKetch
Iâm looking to find the fence dialogue that gets added to my custom npc when I add the factions jobfencefaction and jobmerchantfaction. Iâve created my own custom faction for my npc and set his voice to maleeventoned and it all works well. However Iâm creating a custom voice for him now (what a faff, but got it all working well) and I want to dive into/mimic the info generated by the maleeventoned voice type to have my npc continue to be a fence and have those dialogue options. My plan was to re record them all with my npcâs new custom voice and his custom voice type. But I canât find the dialogue anywhere. I presume it is one of the thieves guild dialogue quests but I canât find it. Also, how and where does a certain voice type dictate what will be said? I see no links anywhere. To get him to talk at all required trial and error, and looking at all the npcâs in the jobfencefaction to find that maleeventoned worked. I guess I could just set up a new dialogue quest that mimics the behaviour of jobfencefaction and maleeventoned fence dialogue but it would be very useful to find all the dialogue associated to stay lore friendly. Searched for a few days now and found very little on this subject. Hope someone out there has some knowledge of this. Thanks all. cumbrianlad
It's set up in the quest 'Dialoguegeneric'. Go to 'Player dialogue', then 'Services' Branch and look for any lines like "Usual guild rate, let's take a look at them". Open it and you'll see it's simply conditioned that they are in the 'JobFenceFaction', or something similar. If you know how to add your NPC to the 'JobFenceFaction', or already have done so, just add your dialogue into your own NPC dialogue quest and add this condition to any of their fence lines. TyburnKetch
This is perfect! Thank you very much for sharing this. I could have spent days looking for them!
cumbrianlad
No worries. The more you know the game and get used to CK, the easier it gets to find stuff like this. When I started, I'd have been stumped for days. This took me about 5 minutes, including the post. Generally speaking, for anything you want to find that's relating to dialogue, navigate to 'quests' in CK, then type 'Dialogue' into the filter and scroll down until you see something that may be what you like. In this instance, I was fairly convinced I'd seen it in 'DialogueGeneric', so it was much easier for me to find. I also thought I'd find it in the 'Services' branch. 'Dialogue Generic' is always a good starting point. Happy days! And best of luck!
