hoppper
Starting with weapons, then moving on to armor, then saving the easiest for last: Retexturing everything so it fits with my crappy gun textures and don't clash too much. So far, I have 4 weapon models made, only 181 left to go... Then I have to make sure they work in-game, then I need to learn how to make armor... This is going to be hell...Anyone have any advice on how to make the modeling go faster... Or how to make better textures since I'm not that good of a graphical artist... madmongo
Speaking as someone who is also of "somewhat less than professional" graphical talent, all I can say is that I feel your pain. Avoid the temptation to try to do things faster. Things come out better when you take your time and follow your inspiration. Also avoid the temptation to make everything fancy whiz-bang high resolution graphics. This is an old 32 bit game and high resolution textures is a great way to run the game out of memory and have it crash. Aim for as low-rez as possible that gets your point across. This is a pretty decent tutorial for armor.http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Creating_an_armour_for_Fallout._Part_1 Good luck. It sounds like a very ambitious project. hoppper
Thanks for the armor tutorial, I'll need it when I get to making armor. I just finished the model that will be replacing the Gauss Rifle, I'm going to take a short break before I get around to texturing it, I kinda needed the reassurance, since it's amazingly exhausting to work.
