HORRIOR
I have been working on making an evolved version of the daedric armor in nifskope and blender, by modifying and combining already existing meshes to the armor. The mesh looks fine in Nifskope and even on Creation kit, but once I try it out in game, the only parts that show up are the two Daedric Armor meshes I used, the regular and the mirrored ones (neither of which were in sync).Pictureshttps://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/images/74508https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/images/74509https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/images/74512 I thought I could just combine meshes in nifskope and expect it to work in game, like it did with my previous weapon mod. Turns out this was not the case after some digging around. I would like to know what I need to do in order to combine these meshes into a workable, functioning armor, that still hopefully uses vanilla meshes. If you have an answer, then on top of telling me what to do, tell me how to do it, since I am a complete noob to all this. I also appreciate if you can tell about this topic to anyone who can help me with it.
M48A5
With all the "Scene Root" entries you have it is a wonder that the CK doesn't crash. To combine parts in NifSkope, you need to open two instances of NifSkope. In the first will be the main .nif file and the second is the .nif file you are taking parts from. Right click on the BSTriShape of the part you are going to use and choose "Copy Branch". Go to the main .nif and right click on "Scene Root" and choose "Copy Branch" . Do this for each piece you are going to add. To remove parts, you RMC on the BSTriShape of the part to be removed and choose "Remove Branch". When you are finished, there should only be one 0 NiNode Scene Root and it will be at the top. Everything else will be below this. You should check some Oblivion, Fallout3 and Fallout: NewVegas for Blender and NifSkope tutorials.

Also what comes to those tutorials, they are horribly outdated, using different layouts, terminology, and including dozens of extra steps that are unnecessary with current day Blender and Nifskope. M48A5
I just re-read my post and where you are going to add the armor parts, it should read "Paste Branch". You can find numerous Blender and NifSkope tutorials using GOOGLE. Good Luck. Edited July 4, 2020 by M48A5
Dragoon23
It's hard to see what's going on in your nifs from the screenshots. If you post them here, I can give them a shot. Also, I'd use Outfit Studio for mashes because I find it much easier to use than Nifskope.

I cannot figure out how to use the "my media" tab and there seems to be no guide to it.

Dragoon23
Wow, there are so many unweighted and unpartitioned layers that I'm honestly surprised it didn't CTD the game. I'm gonna throw in the towel on messing with the mesh itself since its hard for me to decipher what's going on with the various layers. Here's a tutorial on how to merge layers in nifskope: https://bertscktutorial.ucoz.com/index/merged_mesh_nifs/0-33 You can also merge in Outfit Studio, but since you mashed all the stuff in Nifskope, it's probably better to stick with nifskope to merge them. After you're done merging, than you're need to weight paint the layers that are unweighted otherwise they won't move with the armor. This can be done in 3dmax/blender/outfit studio though I'm only familiar with OS so you'll need to find other tutorials how to weight paint in 3dmax/blender. For outfit studio, you can load a vanilla one, copy bone weights, and weight paint the rest. You'll also need to add proper body partition to the layers that don't have them which, in this case, looks the majority of them. Oh, and there should be no layers with collisions ie bsfadenodes. I can find help/tutorials on most of those things, but how do i add body partitions on the layers that don't have them? Drawing blank on that part.
