SkyRobo1
Hey folks I downloaded the Vampire race mod yesterday and started playing as a vampire at the beginning, so I don't waste time trying to get infected by vampires but I do have a question about vampires in general. And that is --- Are they always ugly as f..k? If they are, is there a mod out there that can fix that? - I tried putting it on Google but I can't find anything that actually helps, so I thought I might as well ask here..I like being a vampire but I just can't stand how they look. I mean I like my vamp to look like vampires from Underworld or any show that doesn't make your vampire look like hell s*** on it. Thanks.
Tzontlimixtli
I always got the impression that Vampires are supposed to be ugly. They are, by their very nature, demonic.
AnimeOtaku102
If I recall correctly, the appearance of vampires in mythology has a lot to do with the state of bodies after they've been exhumed. Basically what would happen is someone would be bitten by a vampire bat, die of a resulting infection, a few more people wind up being bitten over the course of a few days/weeks, and the townsfolk would dig up the last guy's body in a superstition-fueled panic to discover: the flesh has shrunken, giving the face and body a gaunt look and the illusion the hair and nails have grown, which would become the basis of the "canon" appearance of vampires. So ugly vampires make sense... for a game based in North America. In Tamriel, on the other hand, vampires are the product of Molag Bal mating with mortal women, so it's more like supernatural STDs. There really isn't any reason they should turn into walking ugly sticks after just three days after infection (maybe after several weeks if they don't properly hydrate and let their flesh shrink), and it's especially annoying when you run into two vampires in Skyrim who break this rule just so the writers can justify them hiding among humans without being noticed. There are a few mods that would address this for the PC: Ethereal Elven Overhaul de-uglifies elves and makes it so elves do not change when they become vampires, Serana-ish Vampires just makes you a little gaunt and have less glowy eyes, and Dawnguard Vampires - Retain your Appearance which puts a well in Harkon's castle which lets you revert your appearance to normal (also has the option of switching back to ugly mode again, I believe). Edit: whoops, forgot you're playing a vampire race mod. I'm not sure if any of those would work then, maybe Serana-ish Vampires, but definitely not EEO and probably not the last one. dukesilver28
This mod works for me. They keep their normal appearance aside from getting the glowing eyes. FYI: the better vampires mod has a feature where you can infect yourself with Sanguinare Vampiris at any time--it saves you from the hassle of trying to get your character infected through the usual means. TheShribe
I've run into this issue too, the "my character was a babe but now shes a vampire and ugly as f*#@" situation. What I did was just open up the racemenu and change the complexion back to the default (it will show the complexion as default, yet your character is still vampire butt ugly, so change off the default and then back.) drach
as always to each his own, but vamps in TES are supposed to be deformed monstrosities (unless well fed), not some teenager wet dream idols
TeofaTsavo
Just a matter of the Vampire personality shining through. Lampreys aren't pretty either.
