The only thing I don't like about the Cassidy idea is that that makes him an adulterer. :( Values could/likely would be different in those times and situations though - As much as Cass talks about her family she never mentions anything about a wedding, the words "husband, wife, bride, or groom", and going by her dialog and endings they depict her as being kinda loose herself - If she's a reflection of her dad it would actually fit.
