dragonchris152
So the majority suggest the radeon 7970 or 7950, but what about nvidia? Is AMD currently the better card?
kalikka
I picked AMD for the cheap 3D. Already had a S23A700D monitor, only needed AMD card for 3D.And the AMD cards OC like crazy, 800mhz reference core-clocks vs 1200mhz OC core-clocks.... And still the temperatures are as low as 66C core/70C VRM (hour of bf3@ultra). Sure, my case cooling is overkill but still. Rennn
So the majority suggest the radeon 7970 or 7950, but what about nvidia? Is AMD currently the better card? They benchmark faster. In real-world performance it's a toss-up.Nvidia cards also don't overclock as high, but they perform better at lower clocks... Like I said, it's a toss-up.If you're looking for an Nvidia card, a 660 ti or a 670 would be good options, assuming you don't intend to break the bank. Either one is a high-end card atm. atrayu17
Get an nVidia GTX 680. Best single GPU on the market but if you have $1000 get a 690.
