Followers Pick Up Items From Ground/Corpse/Container

as user of UFO i think that:

 

- it would be awesome if the followers, and also other NPCs were actually capable of automatically loot slain enemies, pick up ingredients or other items

- eventually use better items found

- during relax, use alchemy lab to create potions, enchant new items found to upgrade personal stats, and maybe even crafting from found materials

- sell junk or old cheap items to vendors, and share the income, or not

- share with other followers, or close NPC, items that upgrade their stats

 

other things id love to see NPC doing:

 

- make gifts to the player

- start brawls for money with other NPCs

- ask for freedom/vacancy due to other things they have to do, after long time service, or big adventures

 

what do you think about it?

this seems like a fairly decent idea. the closest thing i've seen to such a thing is the companion sandmox mod that lets your companions wander a bit while idle and relax while in inns. im not quite sure how deep of a mod it is but it's close to it? the one thing i didn't like about the companion system that even UFO doesn't seem to fix is that in oblivions CM Companion mod when you told them you wanted them to do something you actually told them to do something on the spot rather than -poits and clicks at a single target for them to engage with and interact with- in other words it gave you options in the dialog menus telling them to gather materials for you or go train meant they went out and kill wildlife to gain experience in combat stuff like that. the new companion system is severely limited in what it actually lets you do with your companions making them less live like while theyre with you almost doll like if you will.
