leotheEliteMajor117
Hi. I wanna know if there is a mod that lets you record stuff ingame and save the clips to a folder. Thanks in advance!
dubiousintent
Don't use it myself, but this is what the "Windows 10 Gamebar" is supposed to provide. There are some mods that let you take "screenshots" while in game, but I'm pretty sure capturing streaming from within the game is not feasible. Frankly I would expect the overhead of streaming capture would bring the game to it's knees. If your machine can't handle streaming software outside of the game, there is no reason to expect the more constrained (4GB limit, remember?) of the game to be able to do so instead. Also found "this thread" and the wiki article "Video capture and edit tools". -Dubious-
JimboUK
Windows DVR is accessed via the aforementioned Gamebar, it's Ideal because it lets you record things after the event, it does this by constantly recording to RAM only dumping the video to disk when you hit your chosen hotkey, how long the video dumped to disk is depends on what you've set it to, I find five minutes is enough. The downside is it's restricted to 1080p and the videos look a bit washed out, something that's easily corrected in an editor.
leotheEliteMajor117
Hmm, sadly I don't have Win10 installed. Is there any alternative for Win7?
dubiousintent
With Win7 people used to use the Microsoft "Windows Media Center". But that has been discontinued (and when upgrading to Win10 it was wiped out in the process). However, there are a number of alternative replacements out there. Try the internet search (e.g. Google, Bing, etc.) keywords "win7 game streaming recorder". -Dubious- Edited July 13, 2020 by dubiousintent
JimboUK
I would suggest OBS for Windows 7 or 10, while the gamebar is more convenient with it being built into Windows OBS produces better quality recordings, it can also stream and has a DVR function. https://obsproject.com/
Deleted31599505User
nVidia Experience offers a hot-key to record games. I am not sure if AMD / ATI offers anything similar
