Deleted780509User
I already completely turned autosave off, but I didn't know that overwriting hard saves could cause corruption. Someone else suggested that Blood On the Ice might be responsible, since the murder trigger happens usually about the 2nd time you approach the city, but it seems a little far fetched to me. And even if it was, wouldn't it be found in the papyrus log?
ripple
And even if it was, wouldn't it be found in the papyrus log? Not necessarily. The papyrus log is not a 'crash log.' I went through your BOSS log, and there are some problems: 1) when BOSS tells you to download TES5Edit and clean the esp it has identified as containing dirty edits, do it. Don't think about it, just download TES5Edit and follow the instructions on that page to clean those mods. 2) ignore not the BOSS, for the BOSS is wise. When BOSS tells you that you are using redundant esp's, for example: Cloaks - No Imperial.espNote: Use only one cloaks*espContains dirty edits: 14 ITM, 0 UDR records. Needs TES5Edit cleaning. (http://www.creationk...uide_-_TES5Edit)Cloaks - Player Only.espNote: Use only one cloaks*esp ...then you should follow the suggestion. It is also stated on the Cloaks of Skyrim page that you should use only one optional plugin. If you want no NPCs to spawn with cloaks, use the 'player only' option. If you want NPCs except imperial legions to spawn with cloaks, then use the 'no imperial' plugin. If you want all NPCs to have a chance of spawning with cloaks, then don't use any of the optional plugins because that is what the default plugin does. You will also need Wrye Bash to generate a Bashed Patch that will merge the leveled list edits, because.... 3) you are using a number of 'give more stuff to NPCs' mods (CoS, Immersive Weapons, etc.). You will need Wrye Bash to generate a Bashed Patch which will merge the conflicting leveled lists edits. Again, don't think about this, just do it. 4) Realistic Lighting is not compatible with Climates of Tameriel. Choose one, uninstall the other. 5) SkyTest has been reported to be unstable with a large load order. The author even states that on the mod description page (ignore not the README's, the README's are also wise). Consider removing SkyTest to see if it stabilizes your game. In fact, you should consider trimming your load order by uninstalling mods that you can play without. Mods that add more spawns to the worldspace will make worldspace travel inherently more unstable (skytest, warzones, etc.). It's not the mod's fault, but a limitation of the game engine. This is why vanilla Skyrim suffers from a depopulation problem, because the developers know if they add more stuff, like armies of bandits instead of just 2 or 3 per wave, the game will become unstable, and they don't want players to realize how badly this engine is aging. I suggest you choose just one 'spawn-related overhaul mod' and remove the others. 6) If you want a stable Skyrim experience, I recommend you trim the load order (proper uninstall, not simply delete), clean the remaining mods identified by BOSS as in need of cleaning, use TES5Edit to check out the esp's not recognized by BOSS (I am betting there are a few in that load order), set their load order, Bash Patch it, and start a brand new game (so you don't have to deal with CTDs, bugs, and spammy papyrus logs resulting from crap baked into your save games by mods you no longer use), in that order. Deleted780509User
I already cleaned everything a few days ago. All my .esps are carefully selected and I downloaded every available compatibility patch that BOSS and I could find. I never downloaded Wrye Bash because I was under the impression that it would not work properly with NMM. I'll download it, but I don't think there any compatibility issues between any of my inventory editing mods besides PHT. As for CoT and RL, I didn't know that. I'll uninstall SkyTest then. Only one .esp, the addon .esp from SuperB ENB-RL, is not recognized in my load order. Everything else was recognized and cleaned. Jason2112
Bump, I installed ATTK, it doesn't help. I still crash most of the time when fast traveling to the Windhelm area. I just did Rise in the East, now I crash whenever I try to return to Skyrim with Adelaisa. What else can I do? I cleaned all the dirty edits, I tried disabling all my high-memory using mods, I tried disabling all my .esps (that I could anyway) and that did nothing. There's nothing else I can do... If ATTK didn't get you rolling right You can sure it's a mod conflict or mod order.

Deleted780509User
New game, just out of Helgen keep, visited Windhelm (went inside), fast traveled to Helgen, waited 8 days for good measure, then fast traveled to Windhelm Stables. Guess what? Crash. Lot of good all that did huh? Edited January 24, 2013 by Guest
Deleted780509User
The thing I don't understand is, if it's a mod causing this, why is it letting my fast travel there early on in my game, but after some time passes away from there it causes me to crash when I load the area? I don't think a texture or model mod would do that. In fact I don't know what kind of mod would cause that, besides maybe Warzones. And, considering I appear to be the only person that I've been able to find with a problem as unique as this, I don't know how I'm supposed to find what's responsible since every mod I download has no reports of any situation like the one I'm having. I tried this on vanilla and it didn't happen, it's not a performance problem, and from what I can tell, papyrus isn't reporting anything unusual... why couldn't Bethesda just give us a crash log option? I'm not cycling through 100+ mods to look for an individual culprit, and then trying combinations to see if that causes it. It would take forever. So I need someone to actually help me here.
