Sunday mornings on the Nexus

first off, this is not a gripe, just an honest question: what happens on Sunday mornings that makes the Nexus so slow, and most download attempts fail?

 

Sunday mornings just happen to be the day i usually come just to browse odds and ends sort of mods, and most weeks it seems that if i do find something i want to try out, that its very difficult to get the downloader to work.

 

is it backup-day or some other kind of maintenence? or are Sundays just unusually traffic heavy??

i've always wondered.
