Dwarven Technomancy

This mod would provide a whole new arsenal of unique spells and enchantments based on Dwarven magitech or technomancy. This mod would be specifically designed for more warrior type characters who don't invest in magicka, but still desire some unique spells of their own, or theoretically to implement something like an engineer class to Skyrim. Essentially these would all be equipment based powers that could be activated by wearing gear with the appropriate enchantment, so it wouldn't use up any magicka. Theoretically any kind of armor would do, but to stay true to the whole Dwarven aspect, a perk would be enabled after a modded quest to make all enchantments stronger on Dwarven equipment.

 

The first idea I have is to make Spellbreaker disenchantable so that the ward/shield effect could be applied to any shield you own.

 

The next main idea is a series of spells that affect Dwarven automatons, including a variety of spells based on remote reprogramming that would essentially be automaton exclusive illusion spells, like fear, calm, and frenzy and the like. The mod would also include a reanimation spell called Rebuild that would resurrect any fallen automaton to fight for you, like any necromancy spell. I know there have been several mods that allow you to build your automatons, and this would include a similar function. A brand new restoration spell called Repair would "heal" any automaton, so it would be useful to fix your resurrected spiders and centurians. All these spells though would be loaded into a staff, so they do not use up any of your own magicka. A related but separated feature would be the ability to detect and disable traps in dungeons.

 

The mods main feature would be a whole suite of brand new enchantments based on existing powers including cloaking devices (ivisibility), Infrared/thermal vision (night vision and detect life combined) among others that I haven't decided yet.

 

The mod's most unique feature though would a new piece of equipment called Fabrication Gauntlets. Basically a set of Dwarven gauntlets with a brand new unique effect that is similar to a bound weapon. The fabricator would allow you to conjure any type of weapon provided the raw materials are in your inventory. These raw materials would equal any weapon crafting recipe that you can made at a forge. This might seem inferior to current bound weapons because it may require you to carry a lot more, but it uses no magicka, and here's the kicker. While bound weapons have pretty weak stats, fabricated weapons would have the same stats as their counterparts, and they can be enchanted by the fabricator by adding a soul gem to the weapon during fabrication. After a time limit, the weapon breaks down back into its raw materials. This is not limited to weapons though, another function would let you fabricate your own automatons from spare parts in Dwarven ruins, although this feature has been done by several mods already so this mod could use some of the same data in the CK, creators of said mods allowing of course. I would also like for the player to be able to build automated crossbow turrets, although that would require a brand new mesh which I can't actually do myself.

 

I also imagine the fabricator, assuming it's actually doable would require some heavy scripting, which I have also never done before.

Oh, I almost forgot my favorite idea for the mod. In a quest you discover that shortly before the Dwemer disappeared, some of them were working conducting experiments into the power of the Thu'um. The result is a sonic amplifier device, a helmet that will increase the power of all of your shouts and decrease the cool down periods. The quest in question might center around a legend about a Dwemer Dragonborn.
