DudelSaur
Hello! I've been working on dragon textures and so far its going well. However, the icelakedragon and the blood dragon are proving difficult: their fins have an ugly polygon look that I can't seem to get rid of. Here is an example attached. I use Photoshop CC for my texture edits. Can anyone help? Thank you!
DudelSaur
Here is the prompt I receive when I save my files as a dds:
maxarturo
The picture is way too small to be able to distinguish anything. Add a little more detail to your issue.

maxarturo
That part of the dragon's texture has an "Alpha Channel" that you deleted when you save the texture or you didn't create it in the first place. After you have created the "Alpha Channel" you have to save it as 'DXT 5 interpolated alpha'. "Alpha Channel" is responsible for the transparency part of the mesh and in this case the "Rip Skin" part of the dragon. I hope it helps.
DudelSaur
I apologize if I can't get a bigger image. But the one I edited in CK has a "filled out" polygon effect, while the one from google images show the fins having a more dynamic shape. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong when I am compressing the dds file.
DudelSaur
Do I create the Alpha Channel in the NVIDIA pop up menu? Or is it something I need to do in Photoshop?
maxarturo
Photoshop Open the dragon's 'vanilla texture' to understand it, click the > go to "Channels". * The black shape represents the part of the texture that won't show / render. Have a happy modding.
DudelSaur
That's odd. The Alpha 1 Channel is there for my lake and blood dragons.
