Surtr564
Gonna be another one in a long sad list of idgits...but the effing game keeps crashing and I am getting desperate. It happened before, so I deleted everything, including saves, inis, the whole frigging thing, and started over from scratch. My NVAC log keeps giving me the same "crash" exception everytime this happens. 17000011 _ NewVegasAntiCrash FalloutNV.exe17000011 _ 06730000 07050000 nvac.dll17000011 _ 0B320000 05010060 nvse_1_4.dll17000011 _ 771E0000 06011DB0 ntdll.dll17001951 e 00E8C00D C0000005 FalloutNV.exe17001951 r 00E8C9A9 00E8C00D FalloutNV.exe17001951 h 00E8CD2E 8B0E8B51 FalloutNV.exe17001951 h 00E8CD30 8B513056 FalloutNV.exe17001951 n 00000000 00E8CD3617001951 r 00E8CD36 00000000 FalloutNV.exe17001954 q 00E8CD54 C0000409 FalloutNV.exe17001954 _ CRASHSAV E_THREAD FalloutNV.exe17001954 ! Any help is appreciated. Ah. On the hardware side I have a AMD A10 Radeon R5 with 10 Cores, 8 gb RAM, laptop. And yes, I have used LOOT to order the mods. M48A5
Remove all the unused plugins. Even though they are not active, they will still be loaded into memory when the game starts. I would also reverse the order of the WMX plugins. You have the DLC Merged overwriting the POP Merged. What other mods do you have that do not appear in the load order? Surtr564
The plugins got auto-deactivated when I built the Bashed Patch, so I didn't know if I needed to keep them there or if I could remove them. I have NVSE, NX, JIP, NVTF and NVAC.Those are the only mods I have in my Data folder, I made a clean install after it kept crashing the first time. Ah, and I did use BSA Decompressor. Not sure if that's important. There are a couple of .nam extensions floating in the folder that I really have no idea where they came from.
Surtr564
Try updating your graphics card drivers. I just did. The latest supported driver directly from AMD and verified with Driver Booster. AMD Adrenaline 20.71 if I'm not mistaken.
dubiousintent
The NVAC line "17001951 e 00E8C00D C0000005 FalloutNV.exe" is indicating a "Windows Exception code: 0xc0000005". (This error will also be in your Windows Eventlog under "Applications".) The "Faulting Application" is often the victim of another program rather than the actual culprit, making it virtually impossible for the user to trace the source. Any recent update since the last time it was working correctly is suspect (including video driver updates as eventually they stop testing against older games), as are viruses even if you have anti-virus (AV) running. Run AV from multiple sources when checking for infections. There are a number of free online scanners on the internet (though they are all going to try to sell you their services after the first time). You may need to exclude FNV from "Data Execution Protection (DEP)" and configure " Windows Defender Exploit Guard (WDEG)" (or Microsoft's "Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit (EMET)" for Win7). Please see "Issue - NVSE - fails to load after update KB4058043 to Win10 FCU v1709" under the 'Solutions to Starting the game problems' section of the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" article.Try turning off any unnecessary background processes, such as "anti-virus" or "anti-malware" programs (unneeded if you are running your game in "offline" mode once you have scanned since the last connection), multiplayer "overlays" like "OverWolf" (this is single-player after all), the Steam overlay, etc., at least on a temporary basis to see if they are interfering. There are also tools (often called "Game Boosters") to help you determine "unnecessary when offline" Windows services you can temporarily shut down.It is also possible that any recent change to your mods (such as updates) or your existing "load order" (such as additions or removals) have causes a corruption of the current save game file. Try going back to a save game from before the problem started. Often starting a "new game" with a vanilla test character can help confirm if the problem lies in the current load order.-Dubious-
Surtr564
I started a new game precisely because I installed new mods. My most recent save is one I started with this exact load order and modlist. And I run them over on LOOT and check the conflicts with FNVEdit. So it most likely is the DEP issue. I did use the Game Booster function on Driver Booster and I have disabled the Steam Overlay since I first started buying games there.I also used CCleaner to repair the registry...I did have a lot of crap there. Surtr564
...I ran the Game Booster....I checked ran three different AVs, every one of them purging a little more....I cleaned my register, again....I added FNV as an exception to DEP and configured WDEG.I ran it as an admin and in compatibility mode, even as I placed Steam as Offline. ...and it crashed in the same godforsaken place. 17075706 _ NewVegasAntiCrash FalloutNV.exe17075706 _ 07100000 07050000 nvac.dll17075706 _ 0B230000 05010060 nvse_1_4.dll17075706 _ 772C0000 06011DB0 ntdll.dll17075819 e 00E8C00D C0000005 FalloutNV.exe17075819 r 00E8C9A9 00E8C00D FalloutNV.exe17075819 h 00E8CD2E 8B0E8B51 FalloutNV.exe17075819 h 00E8CD30 8B513056 FalloutNV.exe17075819 n 00000000 00E8CD3617075819 r 00E8CD36 00000000 FalloutNV.exe17075823 q 00E8CD54 C0000409 FalloutNV.exe17075823 _ CRASHSAV E_THREAD FalloutNV.exe17075823 ! dubiousintent
It's still that "Windows Exception code: 0xc0000005". About all I can suggest is to work through your Windows Eventlog and fix all "System" and "Application" errors you can find (warnings are less of a problem but fix any you can as well) and hope one of them is the "offender". -Dubious-
Surtr564
I've tried to enter the Eventlog, but there's no "Application" log that I've found.Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but I really don't know how to read this stuff on Windows 10. Edit: Nvm mind, while I didn't find a "Complete Idiot's Guide", I did find a "For Dummies" page. Edited July 18, 2020 by Surtr564
