juderodney
Before the game is even played, Super Bowl XLVII already has a first: the head coaches involved are brothers. JIm Harbaugh for the San Francisco 49'ers and John Harbaugh for for the Baltimore Ravens. So, for the sake of silliness, which one will win? Note: I'm picking Jim only because I grew watching him play.

sukeban
Ravens are awesome and I wouldn't be upset in the least if they won, but... Gotta go with the Niners.Just what the Bay Area needs, Super Bowl to go with our 2X World Series. I actually think that Baltimore is the more difficult team for San Francisco to handle, though--especially after Ridley got concussed in the second half. Brady commands respect, but the Patriot's absence of a running game made them pretty one-dimensional. Way Ray Rice and Pierce though, Baltimore has that angle covered, and running teams have been the teams that have given the Niners the most grief throughout the season. OTOH, Baltimore hasn't seen a quarterback like Kaepernick yet and I feel like he could light up the Baltimore defense if they try and play him like a pocket passer. Flacco looks good right now, but the Niners just got through handling Aaron Rodgers and Matt Ryan, so I don't particularly fear him in that context. And both defenses are pretty darn good, though based on yesterday's performances, I'd have to give the edge to the Ravens. Anyway, if I were the betting type, I'd put my money on the Niners both because I think they're the slight favorites but also to hold it down for the Golden State. Ravens owner >>> the York family though!
moonlightbaaae
Vindekarr, you said Jim but rooting for the Ravens? Anyways, I'm biased in favor of my Ravens. I'll admit, the Niners are a tough team for offense. They have a strong running game with Frank Gore and Kapernick himself however, their passing game is weaker compared to Flacco. And of course B-Towns Running Backs; Bernard Pierce, Vonta Leach, and Rice are good but not as strong as the Niners'. Leach will gain a lot of yards till he's down, and don't expect Gore or Kapernick to get pass the Ravens' defensive line easy either. They got Ray Lewis, Suggs, Ellerbe, Kruger, and Ngata in their way. For the Passing Plays Flacco has TE Pitta and WRs Boldin, Smith, and Jones to pass to and they are some strong receivers. Count on Smith and Boldin to gain a lot of yards. On the other side though, if Kapernick is gonna pass he's relying on Crabtree, Moss, and the dreaded Vernon Davis. The 49ers also lack deep coverage. If I'm correct they'll probably end up like the Broncos, their Safeties won't cover WRs like Smith or Boldin and allow 'em to A: Gain a lot of yards or B: A touchdown and if I'm lucky Goldson or McBath won't be able to cover my receivers. To be honest I didn't think the Ravens would make it to the Super Bowl. They always make it to the playoffs but choke as they get closer to the Lombardi. *cough* 2011 season AFC Championship Game. After beating Luck, Manning, then Brady I gained confidence and now Jim better be ready on Sunday, 'cause the Lombardi is going home where it belongs: AFC North.
