Losse
This is for master mode without cheats. What armor should I wear with this build. It is already using a lot of points so can I get by with cloth armor? Or am I going to be finding light armor that will make me really want to use it for its stats? Is it worth giving up something else like enchanting to get light armor when I really dont plan to get hit much? I want the conjure to help when i get overrun or on bosses. StayFrosty05
I play a Stealthy Archer/Alchemist (Poisons) on Master and would not hesitate to keep him in Light Armor....he does have a ring summon-able Sabre Cat which I use very sparingly....I love the challenge of keeping a squishy alive in a dangerous world...over use of the Cat would rob me of my own fun, the Cat is only there when my Dovah is in absolute dire straits and being overwhelmed....I use a number of mods that make Skyrim a much more dangerous place and have to rely heavily on Tactics, Poisons, Stealth and Archery to survive it all....he gets very dirty with his tactics, but I have intentionally left him squishy to really enjoy the challenge....But he does need some protection and simply wouldn't survive without Light Armor as CQC is not always avoidable, neither is being hit by the odd arrow no matter how good your dodge reflex....My Dovah rarely takes hits, but when he does the damage from one heavy hit can be severe....if he was in cloth alone it would kill him. As such, personally I would strongly recommend Light Armor...I don't go beyond Leather and Fur Armor myself (he does Smithing) and find them enough no matter the level I'm at. Well, provided you don't spend any stat points in light armor, you can still focus your points on enchanting. Although without knowing what skills you're going to be targeting with this specific build I can't give much advice. If you were going into alteration for example, there's a plethora of mods out there to make spells such as oakflesh less of a hastle to constantly recast, the dragonhide spell gives the same amount of damage reduction as a set of armor that has reached the armor cap ((80 percent)) so it would eliminate the need for any type of armor. But it seems rather odd to want to use enchanting without having an armor set in mind. cloth items don't have quite the variety available to them that armors do. MidbossVyers
In other words, you want to be a witch hunter? As for armor, depends on how often you believe you will be found out. I've seen some videos on YouTube where someone plays a perfect stealth game, and sometimes, not so much.
Kayyyleb
You will take hits until your sneak is high enough to keep you hidden while you snipe your enemies so I'd go with light armor. I've never tried using clothing actually, but it seems somewhat clunky to me since you have to use alteration spells to armor yourself instead of being able to use your magicka on conjuring/healing. BrettM
All my mages wear light armor because defending yourself in cloth is such a pita (and I stink at it). Archery/stealth/conjurer in light armor is no problem, and I didn't have to give up anything. If you allocate points carefully, you can get all the perks you need in smithing, enchanting, and alchemy to raise light armor over the cap while still getting every perk you need in light armor, archery, stealth, and conjuring.
