[WIP] Underground civilisation.

Before i get flamed or anything, this was inspired by jaysus and his CoM [WIP] , thank you jaysus for the brain spark!

 

Project name : Don't know yet, will decide once finished, that's how i role :P.

 

Objective : to provide a base for player made content, in a way that's friendly with fallout 3 lore.

 

Status : map interior is 75% complete. ( not inclusing npcs / items /clutter. )

 

This isn't going to be a simple house or building for hosting npcs for sales of mods etc like i originally planned, instead this will add an entire new faction to the fallout 3 world, complete with they're own goals and views and quest etc, but also keeping to the original objective of housing player mods.

 

Before i begin to explain in more detail, please view this mock blueprint so you gain a general idea.

NOTE: this is not scaled in anyway, just a visual reference im working from.

For quality reasons , i havnt put much thought into the factions storyline, goals etc yet, this is for various reasons, the main will be what country i can get voice actors from. being from the UK, if i cant get participating voice actors from the US i will have to make do with what i have around me, meaning they will be British and that will somehow have to be incorporated into the fallout 3 world. They will however be a very organised group, dedicated to providing a complete underground community, security and observation of the wastelands.

 

It is my intention of making this place neutral. it will be solely focused on self preservation, not global dominance ( evil ) or out to save the wastelands ( good ), this is to allow the player to enjoy it as a good or bad karma player, fitting in with both play styles. it also stops clashes with current factions.

 

Where player made mods fit in :

 

There will be Various npcs in the trading hub, and around the facility providing various services.

 

#Trading hub = This offers Npcs to modders in the most basic forms, set salespeople for weapons, clothing, armour etc.

#Medical bay = again, this offers the abilty for modders to host there "modified stimpacks" etc, any mods relating to the player health.

#Downstairs science/engineering/research labs = This offers modders to introduce current un-lore friendly mods. obviously with scientists, researchers and engineering personnel dedicated to invention and prosperity, they will come up with "weird" inventions from time to time. - look what the BoS did... lol.

#Pub/cantine = not only allowing the hosting of food mods, but also a place for future new companion mods, npcs for quests etc. this will be the local hangout spot and where visitors come to rest.

 

For the player :

 

First of all, the obvious main benefit is having a place to get all your downloaded mods in one easy to access place. even if other moders don't tag on, i will include an easy to follow tutorial on how to edit the mods to place them into the npcs inventory's.

 

there will be an included player house to store your new items, and also offer you a place to work from.

 

next is the virtual community. i really want to add player depth into this mod, which i felt was lacking in certain places in the Fo3 world. each division will have quests, relating to the running of the facility. this will range from simple scouting and resource gathering to threat npc hits. with the player house i really want players to feel like this is were they belong and whats outside the front door is worth protecting and fighting for. This is spawned from my disappointment at tenpenny tower, which only offers a couple of quests and un-relatable characters.

This is still very much a [WIP] as it could be, and id be interested to hear everyone's point of views ( moders and downloaders ) and ideas/ things people would like to see included.

 

Altough its not on the blueprint, i will include an armory for some normal in-game weps. this is because i dont want the "mod salespeople" to get cluttered mixing mods and current in game objects. so rather then have these npcs empty when first launched, it would be nice if some modders could give me permissions to include mods they have made to add to the inventory from the start. ( these mods must NOT replace any base in game items. )

 

Also, the scale of this mod i huge, i feel passionate enough about it to finish it on my own, how ever with so much needed to be done ( quests, uniforms etc ) if anyone would like to step forward to help out please mention so.

I am not a modder , but i think that faction should be some remmants of european forces which come from Europe on the warship or submarine to find better place for living because of some dissaster. Anyway good luck with that project :)

ive actually been toying with the idea of a British Faction that came to DC after hearing word of the enclave ( Believed by most to be the actual American government ), getting there and finding the truth and so on,

 

So bringing in a European source isn't as "surreal" as believed, or even that hard to effectively incorporate them into the fall out world.

i am not actually modder all i can do in geck is a building a cell ... but i would like to help you out with something because i like the idea of bringing an european faction to U.S like a 23. century recolonization, actualy i am from slovakia

Ha. A British Expeditionary Force would be top notch. and its not like we would have been knocked back to the stone age in a nuclear exchange, Manchester has the Guardian Tunnels, London is full of huge underground bunkers, heck a mate of mine has a small fallout shelter on his farm, prehaps if a British mod was made my requests for a Pith Helmet and cricket bat who be realised (im trying myself of course but between trying to find a job and being rather inept its not really going well :P ) I have also been toying with the idea of a BBC world service radio broadcast (maby a prewar recording) but have to go home an grab a mic over crimbo. Sill if the idea of a BEF kicks off I would like to help in any capacity that I can :D

ive got a fallout shelter lol there's actually hundreds in my town ( Tunbridge wells ) , the only vid i could find has some little kids doing the documentary, but here they are =

ive been down those properly climbing through the little gaps at the top of the block off cages, maybe not as technical as vault tec vault lol, but there a hell of alot further underground, easily capable of holding about 300 people at least for decades.

 

so yeah, when it comes to fallout , England was more then prepared in the pre-war era :P. and this is in a little town down in the south, Which is nothing compared to what's in London etc.

 

im pretty much sold on the idea of the BEF, and that is now the direction mod is going.

 

 

Lessabos = as i said this is going to be a large underground community, rather then a force faction such as the enclave, i guess a better comparison would be rivet city. so having other Euro citizens isnt out of the question at all.

 

both of you thank for offers to help out, even with no modding experience just ideas and suggestions in future would be more then enough, im gonna get to work on a Detailed proposal for the faction, so il post that up in a day or two.

It could be some diplomat decendants.not much in the way of weapons but very great in trade and information...adds more plot then anything...The international aspect could be added somewhere,plus you could be in a caste system...just a thought :whistling: :thumbsup: :whistling:
