Edit:The game loads fine on saves that have already loaded into the outside world for the first time. On these saves, it doesn't crash even if I go into a house instance and out into the open world again.

With the information you provided, no one could tell which mod might be causing the problem.

 

But how can you have a save outside the house if it crashes the first time you exit the house?

There's actually some saves on Nexusmods listed under a "Skip Intro" mod. I used them before for troubleshooting.

 

But anyway, I was using one with QNVR3, but then after I changed to regular NVR3 with FCO v2.3.1 to fix texture issues this started happening again.

Turns out it was Freeside Open conflicting with NPC Project Freeside.

 

I chose Freeside Open over NPC Project due to my hatred of navigating Freeside and the areas immediately around New Vegas. Also removed redundancies and mods that I found out to be actually not very well reviewed by the community.

 

Also, a correction. It wasn't leaving Mitchell's house that caused a quick hang+CTD. It was his dialogue, specifically immediately after you pick your dificulty and it closes, also causing the game's time and lighting in his house to change.

 

Mods, you can close this one and call it solved.
