Ironman5000
My girlfriend bought me cheap usb controller today until I get around to buying a decent one, it's my first controller used for my PC and I do not know how to get it working with my games. It works when I test it through the control panel but not sure how to configure it to my games, I had a google and came up with a program called Pinnacle Game Profiler which I installed but I just don't get it. It looks overly complicated and it looks like I have to configure each game individually, is there an easier way to go about it? The product name is Game Prince (No I never heard of it either but like I said it's cheap temp) and it looks like a PS1 pad, I threw the packaging so not sure the product type...JH1000 or something? ripple
If the button setup is configured like a PS1 pad, it may be more aggravation to try and get it working. But I use a X360 controller emulator with my cheap Logitech Dual Action http://code.google.com/p/x360ce/ Used it through Fallout 3, NV, Witcher 2, and now Skyrim. Alternatively, you can map the buttons using something like XPadder. XPadder is what I use when the game has no native X360 controller support. You can't get native analog stick controls, but everything else can be mapped. Edited January 26, 2013 by ripple
Thor.
Now you got my attention, i was always looking for a controller layout fro KOTOR, now i may be able to do that. Sense the original xbox version layout worked just as well as keyboard. i gotta look for the key configuration for that game http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/biggrin.gif WOOT thank you for that little gem of a app.it recognizes the 360 controller right away. And doesn't need fancy input code to make it work, all you need is specified controller inputs. http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/thumbsup.gif probably the most functional gamepad emulator out there. Check This part of the PGP website. and yes, you have to configure each game manually. Even with the Xbox360 controller you seldom have to fine-tune each game manually. Try Xpadder too. it's Simpler, with less features, And completely free.
