Throttlesby
So, last couple days I've had an odd issue that hasn't popped up before. I started a new Fallout 4 survival game and everything was mostly good. I tried activating some of my mods to add in some additional weapons, remove a few mods that I didn't care too much for, like a HUD overhaul. For some reason, the newly enabled mods aren't showing up in game. The ones that I deactivate are still active in game. How can I fix this? I've tried re-enabling and disabling, I've tried deploying. So far, nothing's worked.
nt5raham
Number one, keep in mind that any time a mod is Enabled or Disabled it is a hard requirement that it be followed by a Deploy. I see that you are using Deploy, but make sure it is being used as a last step after all other changes have been made. Deploy is your clean-up hitter to clear the bases and bring all the players to home plate. Double check the PLUGINS tab (on the left side of Vortex). There is an option to Enable/Disable plugins associated with the different mods there. It is possible for an Installed/Enabled/Deployed mod to not have the corresponding plugin Enabled. This would prevent it from showing up in game. Be sure to click Sort Now at the top if you manually Enable a plugin this way.You may also have a Removed/Disabled mod that still has an Enabled plugin, depending upon how the mod was initially installed or possibly modified after installation. This is showing the plugins from your game\data\ folder, so any plugins that have been manually copied will still be here regardless of doing a Remove or Disable and Deploy on the MODS window Normal deployment after doing a Remove or Disable would remove the plugin from the game folder, so it should not show up in this window in that case.Weird things can happen when a mod is uninstalled after it has been saved in a game. Certain aspects of it can become "baked in" to a save, so to speak. The general rule of thumb is do not remove mods mid-game.If a simple plugin Enable/Disable doesn't fix this for you, I would recommend using the PROFILES option in Vortex to create a test profile and start a new game. Using a "Test" profile greatly simplifies the investigation process. Test using the bare minimum number of mods required. Include dependencies only at first, then you can gradually add on to that. That way you can test the mods in question, checking mod behavior independent of any possible interference from other mods or saves. Feel free in the test profile to enable, disable, tweak deploy and load order, deploy, sort, etc. Meanwhile your main gaming profile remains untouched so you don't have to go through the process of putting everything back like it was after the testing is finished. Simply switch from the Test profile back to the Gaming profile and everything is as you left it (unless you have uninstalled/deleted mods).
