Kajana
I am reletively new to modding and computer gaming. I have played DAO since 09 on the 360 and recently (August 2012) got the game on PC and been happily modding ever since. Being an old frequenter of the DA wiki and its forums, I posted a similar topic a couple months ago, hoping for suggestions and a good debate of which I could take part in. I was immeditaly shut down by a modderator who said that this topic had been discussed and pointed me to an old forum. Disappointed at the lack of debate, I saved the post and moved on. I recently looked at the old post and found that the last entry was January of 2011. So apparently no good mods have come out since that time and/or no one who joined the nexus after such date has anything to say upon the matter, so there is no need to waste the valuable space for such a discussion. I don't think that is true. Let's try again. And perhaps there is no interest in such a topic but I would like to find out. If anyone would like to share their favorite mods, the ones they won't play the game without and (if inclined) why, I for one would like to hear it. However let us limit ourselves to either mods after January 2011 or posters who joined after such date and see if that pleases the nexus. And if no one posts, oh well, at least I tried. Atrast nal tunsha.
Kajana
Me personally: not including dialogue or bug fixes Improved Atmosphere: I love it, makes the game seem like a real world as opposed to a game IRS - A: improves that whole story Advanced Tactics: really lets you customize and not have to micro manage your character Combat Tweaks: like rediscovering combat, made many talents actually useful Smarter Enemies: increases enemy AI Ser Gilmore NPC and Karma's Companions: both incredibly well done, can't imagine the game without the new compantions now The Winter Forge: took a bit to get the hang of but so worth it, lets you customize everything, just great Grey Wardens of Ferelden: gives all GW, DA2 legacy style armor Natural bodies: obviously Underworld armor and the beautiful new retextures Elvehan Weapons Armor of the Black Fox I have many many more but those are my essentials. Thandal
With the exception of some of the individual item mods (weapons and armour) that list basically consists of mods identified in the thread you were pointed to the first time. (So I guess that thread did its job.) You might consider adding onto that one, instead of starting a whole new one. Having multiple "Good Mods" topics doesn't help newcomers, it makes it harder for them to find what they're looking for. It's not that there aren't any "new" mods, it's that only you can decide what a "good" mod is (for you.) That previous thread was much more than people's lists. It was a discussion of why they liked the ones they did. Knowing what kind of mod you like is essential. But what might be useful (to you and others) is starting a new topic along the lines of; I've tried Advanced Tactics, what other mods do people like for adjusting the Companions' behaviours?- or - I like what The Winter Forge says it can do, but it can be really hard to use. Is there another mod that let's me craft my own items? That's how you'll get meaningful answers.
earlsmith852
Sappho's Daughters is in a class by itself...but only if you are playing a female heroine. Lots of inter-personal relations, and a lot of x-rated sex scenes.
