diegoaccord
Okay, so I followed a custom NPC creation guide and when I got to the point of importing the face from the .NPC, the face was not exact, it was closer to vanilla than mine is. Like a hybrid. So I read comments on the tutorial and it seems like everyone had that issue. If you made certain changes, they just don't work. Is that really a thing? The person that made the video was the one who answered that big changes dont work. So for one character here is the actual face, VS what happens when imported Actual: Yes it looks the same in nifskope That's an almost vanilla head. I have 2 faces/followers that I want to do, but if this is the case, all the steps needed for custom followers is a huge waste of time if they are vanilla-ish. I could've spent 3 minutes in CK to make this damn face. Anyone know what gives?

cumbrianlad
You can probably upload the other one in another post. There's a max 250 kB limit for each post. Apart from that there's an overall limit for what you can add to the server. It'll tell you that you've exceeded the server limit if that's the case. cumbrianlad
Tbh, neither one looks as ghastly as vanilla NPCs! The hair style, complexion and facial features all look better to me, in both screenshots. Have you actually game-tested? Neither Nifskope nor CK reflect entirely accurately what the game engine actually renders.
diegoaccord
definitely different. preset in white follower in red Edited August 4, 2020 by diegoaccord
diegoaccord
I tried to copy the nif from the actual preset and rename it, and I got the same face but with the texture bug. Not even the preset face with the texture bug, but the vanilla one. Considering that the file is the same type and name, I REALLY don't see how it's just not using that for the head. In Fallout 4 all you have to do is facerip your custom to an NPC ID. That game is older than this. LE has that ability as well AFAIK. I almost want to get LE, but something tells me that it'll somehow be a pain to get running on my system. Like Steam Fallout 3.
Algabar
TBH, in cases like this one I always work on an "Oldrim" basis. I start with a racemenu preset (not .NPC data) and use "Nifmerge" - which isn't available for SE. There's a workaround though. Here's how to make a follower out of a Racemenu preset in SE only:https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/30041
