KhaoticHero
Just to start this out, this is NOT a thread on how to create a mod for Fallout 3. This is a thread on how to apply certain mods (from this site) onto Fallout 3. While most organized mods have detailed information and a how to install it, i still get confused on some parts. For the most part the .ESP file mods are easy to execute as you just place the file onto the data folder and load it up upon playing. Mods like adding a new armor/weapon, altering/adding texture files (on people, more customizations, current armor/weapons, etc.), and so forth are difficult IMO. From these you may get files that are required to be place in the game dictionary (i think?) which in turn replaces some files (?) to enable the changes. All in all, i was wondering if someone could help guide me on how to apply these kind of mods? I'm complete novice in this, so any help would be appreciated :ninja:. Thanks for reading, and possibly helping me out. :thanks:
KhaoticHero
I hate to do this, but it sucks that no one even bothered to reply to this. Even a flame then link may of helped. Bump
erbkaiser
You probably just got overlooked. I don't really understand your post either... is your question on how to install mods? There are basically three kinds of mods:1) ESP files only2) Loose files only3) ESP files with loose files 1 is easiest: you just drop the mod in \data\, and enable it on the launcher or FOMM. 2 is harder. You MUST edit the ini file: binvalidateolderfiles=1. Then extract the files under data in their right paths. Most mods are zipped so they respect paths, so a file that ought to go into \data\textures\weapons\ will go there. You also need to invalidate the BSA files, use ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated or the option in FOMM to do so. Do not rely on archiveinvalidation.txt. 3 is a combo of 1 and 2: unzip the esp and select it, and unzip the textures/meshes/soundfiles/etc.. Thanks to this i could do some serious modding.
