YouDoNotKnowMyName
Good evening everybody! I hope this is the right place to post this .... I just tried to update FO4 to the newest version. (because a mod wasn't working and I though that that might fix it, but it seems that updating broke EVERYTHING). Steam started downloading the update, everything was working fine. But then when it reached 593.28 MB / 593.28 MB it stopped and said "update paused".When I hit "continue" it load for a split second and then goes back to "update paused".All other games updated without a problem, so it has to do with FO4.I already tried to "verify the files" or "empty download cache", nothing woked. Also, the steam icon in the taskbar is yellow. My internet connection is working fine. If this matters:I have steam (and all the games) installed on a second hard drive (HDD), not the C drive (SSD). (because I don't care about "slightly longer load times")But I never had any problems with that before. Please, if anybody knows what could be going on here, let me know here ... YouDoNotKnowMyName
I feel like such an idiot! I just tried to delete the whole "steam" folder and replace it with a backup that I made a few months ago.As I was trying to delete it, a message poped up "Can't delete files because some files are still in use by another program" (or something like that, you get the point ...) That was when I realized that I had FO4Edit running in the background, which had the Fallout4.esm open. That's why steam couldn't update that file, because FO4Edit was still using it. As soon as I closed FO4Edit, the steam update worked!!!
