ImAzazel
I'm sure this has asked a time or two before, it must have! I couldn't find anything by googling though. Nevermind the anti immersion of it, and non lore friendliness. Why is this not done frequently? It's gotta be possible, especially since they're both using the Creation Engine. I always wondered this. I would love to see mechanics from F4 make their way into Skyrim, or Skryim mechanics (like magic and shield usage) come to Fallout 4. At the very least, porting weapons/armor should be a little easier? I dunno, i just figured maybe someone who knows the Creation Kit like a pro would be able to give me an answer as to why. I see people rebuilding older Elder Scrolls games within the Skyrim engine and older Fallout games within the F4 engine. So why not a cross over? Algabar
Nevermind the anti immersion of it, and non lore friendliness.Well, lore matters (at least for a lot of people).... Besides that, porting mods over isn't as easy as one might think. You can't load Skyrim plugins in the FO CK or vice versa. OFC the two games ar very similar, and having some experience with Skyrim modding helps a lot in FO, but you would always need to start from scratch and create a new mod. Maybe you can copy over some scripts and stuff, but you would have to rebuild a lot of things. Besides that, meshes and texture formats are different between the two games. For use in FO, one would have to rebuild Skyrim textures and meshes - or vice versa. OFC it CAN be done, but it requires quite a lot of work. In fact, there ARE conversion of Skyrim outfits to FO and the other way round. But it's not that easy. Another reason might be different interests. While there are some modders who create content for both games, many are only interested in one of the two games. E.g. someone who likes creating modern fire weapons probably has no interst in swords and staves and the other way round...
IsharaMeradin
Technically, Skyrim scripts can be used in FO4 without issue provided there is a reason to use such a script. But not all FO4 scripts can be used in Skyrim. They introduced features to Papyrus for FO4 that are not available in Skyrim. It becomes easier to build something similar from the ground up with what is available than trying to re-work an FO4 script.
