Fallout 4 inconsistent CTDs

I looked at the FCOM front page, and it says your troops can gain perks. Did I misread that?

It says Keep your troops alive to watch them gain veterancy and unlock powerful perks as they fight alongside you.

That sounds as though it adds new perks to the game.

That doesn't really answer my scopes questions. Were you crashing with those scopes mods enabled before? Or are you only crashing after installing FCOM?

the game was still crashing even after i removed fcom and see through scopes so i dont think so

so far my game has stopped crashing after removing modular gauss and its see through scopes patch but it just froze randomly while walking towards marcy so maybe see through scopes might be causing some instabilities or possibly some other mod sadly

gee i wish i could just play the game with the mods i want without it f***ing up every 5 f***ing mins

Are you using the Replacers version of 3D scopes, or the Normal version?
The Replacers version is more problematic. You might just want to install the Normal version.

You won't be missing anything, you'll just have the normal base-game versions of scopes plus the 3D scopes.

3D scopes is similar to FOV mods. The engine just doesn't handle those kind of edits very well, i'm afraid.

You shouldn't use it in conjunction with any FOV mod, period. Choose one or the other.

I'm also taking a look at No Combat Boundaries. The mod make sit so aggro'd enemies will follow you if you go indoors or outdoors during combat.

I was under the impression that this already happens in-game. The transition from indoors to outdoors (or vice versa) is treated the same as if you just started sneaking, as far as the enemy NPC sees it. That's what I thought, anyhow.

I'm not entirely familiar with how FCOM affects combat - but there may be some incompatibility there.

I could be wrong, though. Try disabling that and see if it helps.

Also, if none of my previous posts help, try disabling Settlement Electricity Overhaul.

I generally stay clear of mods that alter the base-game Electricity mechanics. They tend to be buggy.

This one in particularly looks excessive. Adding 10,000 power is ALOT for the game engine. And completely unnecessary.

You might be able to load that mod up in FO4Edit and change the value to 100 or 200. That should be all you ever need, honestly.

And it seems to have an enormous radius of effect, too. Yikes.

You're choosing alot of very popular mods. Mods that were made a long time ago, blew up in popularity and maintain top spots in the search engine.

So it's not your fault that you're getting burned by them. And things like LOOT and UFO4Patch.

Full Dialogue Interface, for example, is still wildly popular even though it's built around the game the way it was years ago.

It contains folders that were removed from Fallout 4 years ago. It still works, but it could seriously use a remake.

You won't find a Strings folder in your Fallout 4 Directory anymore, unless you use that mod.

The same is true for alot of the old, top-ranked mods.

i had the normal version of see through scopes installed but i removed it and its patches hours ago along with the mtech ballistic knife and started a new save and so far things were going fine even with fcom installed up until now after playing for a few hours it decided to crash mid fast travel but not much of a big surprise

ive actually never had much issue with settlement electricity overhaul and ive used it for a year or so even on xbox 1 and all it really does is make all the vanilla settlement stuff that require power do so wireless by crafting a fuse box and placing it anywhere

the only problem is after you place it and try to move it itll cause your frames to drop to like 3fps so its a better idea to just scrap it and build a new one in a different spot

And you think something that tanks your fps isn't hurting your game at all?

I don't see how lowering the energy output to 200 or so would hurt. Everything else from the mod would still function the way it should. I seriously don't understand why they would ever set the value to 10,000. That's just so ridiculously overkill.

Well, as long as you're comfortable with your game's stability, I guess that's all that matters.

But if you're still experiencing crashes, I do think you should either lower the value in FO4Edit, or disable that mod.

You shouldn't be crashing just from fast traveling or anything else.
