How do you feel about dialogue without voice in fallout?

No voice bothers me, but if the mod is good enough I'll overlook it.

Conversely really crappy voiceacting can ruin an otherwise good mod...

well if it has no Voice i wont Whine about it....But if they will add Voice Acting to it It Must Be Atleast Decent....I rember a Mod on Oblivion about the "Thieves Arsenal" It had Good Voice Acting, Really Good For Me.

I dont care if a dialog is vocal or not, as long as it has depth... In a decent conversation if the content is good I dont mind reading it at all...

 

I will try to give some examples from Baldurs Gate II : (eheheheheheheh)

 

Keldorn and Jaheira talks about the black and white and gray shades of life, keldorn states that gray is for the weak and indescisive... But in a beautiful line, not like I tell you now :D

 

Many of the romance lines in BG II...

 

Aeire gets hurt very bad and Nalia runs to her and screams out loud for a healer, then Aeire tells that it is ok she is also a healer (then casts a cure light wounds in game :D)

 

Aerie gets very hurt and Jaheira tells her to be careful and gives her some advice

 

Keldorn and Anomen talk about the battle scars they wear, and of duty of Helm and such...

 

The personal quest of Keldorn, the lines are great there "I am nothing but a drop of water for her, you are her oasis" something like that...

 

and of course the Ranger from Rashemen :D Minsc...

 

"Minsc and Boo stands ready"

 

"Ooo we are all heroes, you and Boo and I, hamsters and rangers everywhere... Rejoice!!"

 

and many more... in fact BG II sets a really high standard but what I look for in a dialog or a conversation is depth, good use of language (I dont mean you cant curse :D) and some simplicity that will make you smile, like Aerie's lines...

Biggest problem is that almost all the dialog in F3 is voiced so running into an NPC with no voicing would be a split in the game's immersion.

So long as the dialog isn't' badly written and follows the same style as Fallout3, I don't care for having voices. It's a nice touch, but 99% of the times the voices are bad (low quality, naisely, ect)

80% of the time i read faster then thay talk and skip them. Unless i want to get immersed and truly RP i skip it. a good multistep quest thats well thought out (Moira) is worth pages of unspokenness IMO

It's not really necessary, but it would take the mod to another level, kinda like polishing a trophy. I'm using a headset and subtitles are off.
