KnightRangersGuild
I made my first standalone follower mod and I can't seem to get rid of the neck and hand seems and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I followed the tutorials to the letter! Here is the mod....... http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/30704 .And here is a picture of what I mean......... I did the best I could but I guess It's just not good enough, so I think I need a little help. Thank you whoever you are :) http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/4040/ladyhawke05.jpg Edited January 31, 2013 by KnightRangersGuild
FavoredSoul
What you're doing wrong is that you're not using a 3d Painting Program. Those 'tutorials' are trying to get you to do something called "Blending". Where you blend your texture with the vanilla texture near the edges. This is NOT the way to remove seams; it's just a cheap, cheap, cheap workaround. If you're pretty sure you made no mistakes following those tutorials, try looking to your normal maps. Did you edit the Normal Maps too? Cause mismatching diffuse textures are only 33% of the cause for seams. The Normal Map and Specular Map share the other 66%. Even if you didn't edit the Normal Maps, someone else probably did, and they are the ones that probably didn't do it right. I would really like to fix this and thanks again for your help.
gamefever
There's GIMP, google it. I don't use GIMP I use photo shop. So I can't point out a tut for it, but I see it around all the time...When I'm hunting down tut's for my own modding.
FavoredSoul
I use Mudbox for getting rid of seams. It's not free unless you're a student and registered at the Autodesk Community Website. Blender and 3dsMax offer 3d painting, but i've never tried it, so can't speak for either.
KnightRangersGuild
OK, I already have Gimp and Blender, but the problem with blender is every time I try to import a file it says Python error, and I installed it exactly the way this says..... http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/12248 .So I haven't tried Gimp out yet so I guess I will try to find a tutorial for that. Hopefully it is easier to use then Blender. I've had blender for two years and still don't know how to use it, LOL, it's because all the tutorials for it are way to vague. I've tried following them to the LETTER!!! and still didn't work. Well thanks guys
