Dadalama Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Like the histories of India, the middle east and southeast asia?
mort82 Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 if there is any info, you'll find it in here: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_Bible
Circuitous Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 From recollection, Africa's pretty much destroyed (I'm not entirely sure why, either), China's completely blasted, and just about everything else is California-esque (meaning, survivable).
evilbeefjerky Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 From recollection, Africa's pretty much destroyed (I'm not entirely sure why, either), China's completely blasted, and just about everything else is California-esque (meaning, survivable). Africa was ravaged in the Resource Wars. While there aren't any specific details we can pretty much assume it and any other lands with untapped resources were strip-mined and fought over by the super powers.
Circuitous Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Resource wars, right. I managed to forget about those (and pretty much all the non-China-US hostilities before the war). Thanks.
NukAddict Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Rad-Dingoes, babies. You figure out the rest.
Sephlyn Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Fallout openings canon or no? In the 21st century, war was still waged over the resources that could be acquired. Only this time, the spoils of war were also its weapons: Petroleum and Uranium. For these resources, China would invade Alaska, the US would annex Canada, and the European Commonwealth would dissolve into quarreling, bickering nation-states, bent on controlling the last remaining resources on Earth. (cue a kiss to build a dream on for Fo2)The Earth was nearly wiped clean of life. A great cleansing, an atomic spark struck by human hands, quickly raged out of control. Spears of nuclear fire rained from the skies. Whole continents were swallowed in flames and fell beneath the boiling oceans. or something like that
evilbeefjerky Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Fallout 1's is canon as it goes into specific detail which is supported elsewhere (we know China invaded Alaska, and the U.S. annexing Canada was shown in the intro before that one)Fallout 2's is more poetic licence on the subject.
