jabberwockxeno
I'm comparing some texture packs that involve ingots and ores. I imported them all into max without issue, assigned the appropriate textures and such. But when I imported the vanillia iron ingot and silver ingot mesh, I noticed something. The material for them had their textures being swapped. IE: The iron ingot mesh called for the silver ingot texture, and vis versa. Now, it appears that this is how the game works, as the silver ingot texture appears like the in game iron one. This brings up another issue. If that's the case, then shouldn't all the texture packs naturally follow the same mistake, in that what's named ironingot_d.dds or whatever would be applied to the silver ingot mesh? The thing is, the pathways for the materials of those meshes list the CORRECT pathway. What's going on here? EDIT: When looking in game for HD ores and ingots, the silver ingot shows the iron texture, as you expect if the author was aware of the messed up pathways, but iron texture for the ingot matches the iron ore ingot more, not the silver ore. Argh, this is confusing. Edited February 2, 2013 by jabberwockxeno
