shanon611
I was thinking of replacing a destroyed house in outer vegas with a new actual house but im not sure on how to go about this as I have read different things. Should I delete it? I tried deleting a debris pile but when i deleted it in the geck it still shows in the game so I'm not sure if there is something else i need to do (i looked online and read something about using FNVedit but idk, I have only used FNVedit to flag my mod as an esm). Should I just Disable the structures? What do you guys think would be the best way of going about this?
dubiousintent
Please do not "delete" anything in the game. It will cause errors when some other plugin attempts to reference it. Instead disable and move the object somewhere inaccessible, such as below ground. This will create an "overwrite". Then you can put your "replacement" in that location instead. Strongly suggest you read the "Tome of xEdit" (FNVEdit is a game specific implementation of xEdit), the "Conflict Detection and Resolution" and "Mod Cleaning and Error Checking" sections in particular. If you are going to mod or edit mods, then you really need to learn about xEdit as well as the GECK. They are both essential tools for different things. -Dubious-
