Sou1ofRebe11ion
I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one thinking that the Legion armor in Skyrim looks ridiculous. Are they seriously wearing skirts above the knees? You all look like pansies, not soldiers. The Legion armor style in Oblivion however looked awesome. There was no shame having that armor signify the main character. It looked like armor, it looked weathered, and you looked like a soldier. When I played Oblivion, I actually got a suit because I love how it looked cosmetically, while in Skyrim I avoid it like no other. Anyways, if someone could change the Skyrim legion armor into the Oblivion style legion armor, I'd appreciate it. Send me a message when you do please. Deleted1308005User
Bethesda went a bit too much for the Roman look with Legion. None of the armors looked like that in Oblivion, and it was based in Cyrodiil, Hearth of the Empire! So yes, I approve this request. I've been looking for something to replace the imperial armors, but I haven't been able to find anything that really suits them.

If you're a modder considering this, What I'm asking is you like I don't know, perhaps make the armor from oblivion, and have it replace the armor in Skyrim. Just an appearance mod if you will. I've seen people create armor mods such as Knights of the Nine and Morrowind armors, so I know it's possible. Do you get what I'm saying?
dragonchris152
But oblivions legion did wear skirts, just they also had pants. Really a few edits to the original armor should oblivionify it. Chain mail, perhaps a shorter skirt, full gauntlets and an open version of the hoplite helmet. If your lucky though, perhaps you'll get an experienced modeler. Amalurian
If people stopped making skimpy armors, cool things like the legion armor could be done, but in the meantime you can use this: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/16130 Edited February 6, 2013 by Amalurian
martoto
You know, there's this mod that adds Gondor armor from LOTR. If someone were to retexture that it could be made to look like the one in Oblivion I think.

But yes I would love to see the Oblivion imperial armor in Skyrim. I always played Oblivion and used to wear that exact same armor for the reasons Soul of rebellion gave. And in fact, until Ralof opened his mouth at Helgen I didn't even noticed it were members of the Legion.
BruticusMaximus
I found one its on moddb i use this mod and moddb is trusted you need to go to addons to find the mod files and also theres also optional files one of them makes it so the legion wears the old imperial armor here's the link to the mod andsome photosI not sure if you need something like winrar or winzip to extract the files into the skyrim data archive but i used winzip to download it - http://www.moddb.com/mods/weapons-and-armors-from-cyrodiil/addonshttp://media.moddb.com/cache/images/downloads/1/115/114284/thumb_620x2000/Imperial_Soldier.jpghttp://media.moddb.com/cache/images/downloads/1/114/113833/thumb_620x2000/Imperial_Dragon_Armor.jpg Edited December 16, 2017 by BruticusMaximus
Oozingbear58
I found one its on moddb i use this mod and moddb is trusted you need to go to addons to find the mod files and also theres also optional files one of them makes it so the legion wears the old imperial armor here's the link to the mod andsome photosI not sure if you need something like winrar or winzip to extract the files into the skyrim data archive but i used winzip to download it - http://www.moddb.com/mods/weapons-and-armors-from-cyrodiil/addonshttp://media.moddb.com/cache/images/downloads/1/115/114284/thumb_620x2000/Imperial_Soldier.jpghttp://media.moddb.com/cache/images/downloads/1/114/113833/thumb_620x2000/Imperial_Dragon_Armor.jpg So what i did with this mod (you do need something like WinRAR or 7zip) is i downloaded TWO of the non-vanilla helmet replacer files (both will contain identical textures) which really only contains the standard Legion Armor textures and meshes but even with the .esp, it doesn't assign the files to the right spots. So to solve this issue, i used the Fallout Mod Manager mod which allows you to open files like Skyrim/Data/Skyrim - Meshes and Skyrim/Data/Skyrim - Textures. This is needed to find the file pathways that you need in order to substitute this mods files for the Vanilla files. Ex: the vanilla pathway for Imperial Helmet would be shown as Skyrim/Data/Textures/Armor/Imperial/m/helmet.To replace vanilla textures, you would recreate this pathway in your Data folder by going into Textures, creating an Armor folder (if didn't exist before), then creating an Imperial folder in Armor, and an m folder in Imperial. Once you've made this pathway, rename the modded meshes and textures as needed to match the IDs of the vanilla items you want to replace *if you want to be sure with visual aid which specific item is which, highlight all imperial armor in the Fallout Mod Manager and hit "Extract". This will download the thumbnails of the textures so you can view them and know which items to rename. so if the vanilla armor is "boots_n.dds" and the mod armor is "Legion boots_n.dds" then rename the "Legion boots_n.dds" to "boots_n.dds" as well as "boots.dds" and "Legion boots.dds". Putting the renamed modded armor into the last folder you made will make the pathway Skyrim/Data/Textures/Armor/Imperial/m/boots.dds and Skyrim/Data/Textures/Armor/Imperial/m/boots_n.dds. Doing this with all the mod armor will make the game register all Imperial Armor to be the modded Legion Armor. When renaming armor, you will see there is Cuirass.dds and Cuirasslight.dds, gauntlet.dds and gauntletlight.dds and so forth. REPLACE BOTH OF THESE FILES FOR EACH ITEM OF ARMOR WITH THE SAME MOD ARMOR. So you would use "Legion Cuirass.dds" or whatever for BOTH cuirass.dds and cuirasslight.dds. The reason for downloading TWO replacer files is simply to have backup textures for renaming items for duplicates like this for both regular and light vanilla armors. Let me know if any of this doesn't make sense!
