ArmoredTroll
After many hours of gameplay on one character, random bandits and vampires are no longer hostile. No matter what camp or dungeon I visit, neither of those two factions attack me. My best guess is it involves "Redwater Den", since it seemed to start after I entered the lair. Nobody would attack me, even if I hit them first.
anjenthedog
IDK if this would apply, but it might... in-game, in console mode, try toggling the tdetect command. It's possible that it was toggles during some action or battle animation or something and the cycle got broke when it expected to run a cleanup afterwards that never happened...and then you saved. If that doesn't work, switch it back (of course), then check your factions to see if you accidentally gained vampire and bandit factions via some script gone wild. It's happened to me...although I don't recall vampires being on the list for me, just bandits and some creatures, which, if this is what's going on with you would also explain them not attacking (you wouldn't be an enemy). To be honest, I didn't get that far the last time I encountered the issue. Of course there's the punt position of stepping back to before this became an issue, which is what I generally do when this sort of error is encountered, and exactly what I did the last time it happened to me. TBH, I'm always worried that even if i "get around it", I may be causing more damage downstream than it's worth it for that shiny bauble or book or whatever. ArmoredTroll
Thanks, for the reply. Sadly, "tdetect" didn't work. How do I check my factions? I've already tried removing myself from the bandits/vampires factions as well as their ally factions.
anjenthedog
Thanks, for the reply. Sadly, "tdetect" didn't work. How do I check my factions? I've already tried removing myself from the bandits/vampires factions as well as their ally factions. Unfortunately I'm not exactly sure. Console commands (https://skyrimcommands.com/) shows how to set faction, but beyond that I'm kinda clueless (which is why I give up and punt as soon as I realize that I'm experiencing the behavior). Hopefully someone will come along with the answer. Edit: there might be a mod for adjusting factions. Seems likely, but idk really. Hmm this looks like it might do the trick. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/17924
ArmoredTroll
Thanks, for your continued assistance, but it looks like that mod only shows friendly factions ranks. The another possibility I thought of is that I joined the Dark Brotherhood with this character, where's normally I just kill Astrid outright and destroy the Brotherhood instead. My normal playthroughs don't have this friendly evil faction issue. I've also noticed wolves no longer attack, as well.
ArmoredTroll
I decided to just write it off as a random Bugthesda issue and start a new game. That was the first time I've ever encountered that bug, in over a combined play-time over 10,000 hours between both Skyrim LE and SE. Thanks, for the assistance.
