Steam or Windows Live?

I love this game and after playing it (I'm about to enter New Vegas), I realized I'm long overdue in throwing my money at Bethesda. I plan to buy it asap and I just want to know which version (Steam or Games for Windows Live) is most compatible with moddage, or does it even matter? Thank you in advance. Edited by raiderexe

Games for Windows Live is a horrible piece of crap compared to Steam, as far as I'm concerned.

Go for Steam, it's generally more reliable, stable and easy to use. Some Steam games still have GFWL forcibly stapled into their asses, probably because Microsoft is such a douche, but not New Vegas, as far as I know.

That's good news actually. I have a Steam account and was afraid I wouldn't be able to get it there. Thanks a lot for the info, it's very much appreciated.

Steam is required. There are no other versions of New Vegas, even if you buy a physical copy.

Let's hope this means that you've been playing it over at a friend's house and not that you pirated the game.
