Help with Wrye Bash

Please help me, I spent hours upon hours ordering all my mod but then suddenly it all went to alphabetical order when I moved one mod 2 steps down for no reason WTF? and loading my backup settings didn't seem to do anything WTF again?

any way, I discovered that you can see the load order of mods used in save files but when I copy them I can't paste them in the load order list for my currently active mods. Is there any way to edit this list? a txt document or something, I've looked everywhere I can think of.

no they are in load order but the load order suddenly became alphabetical (well most of it anyway, the first 20 mods or so is still in my normal order like they should be, weird)

edit - I can swear that when I right clicked on a save before and then "list masters" it showed me the load order the savefile used but now it's the f***ed up load order. I can still see my old order when I just right click on the save and the mods show up to the right. Please tell me there's a way to restore that order

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

f*#@f*#@f*#@f*#@!!!

sorry... seriously though, is there any way to fix this? wrye bash f*#@ed my load order up like 5 times today little by little and it doesn't even give me time to fix it before it screw me over again, finally it messed my entire load order up again and deactivated some mods and activated some others. Is there a better program I can use to sort my mods?

Two options. In Wrye, get your load order right one more time, then right click on one of the column headers, select load, then save list. Next time it screws up your list, go to that same menu, but select load list.

Another possibility is that you edited Bash's ini files to do somethign odd and have simply forgotten about that. (A non-uncommon occurrence for those of us that like tweaking config files).

I've tried that but I discovered that doesn't save which order the mods are in, only which mods are active

You could always try a different mod tool like mod organizer, it really is very good. If you haven't looked at it, you should.

Thanks, I'll try that first thing in the morning, have to go to bed now

edit: it worked great so thanks

I'm a bit late to this party, but I'll voice my frustrations, also. After using this for a few days and learning my way around the ropes, I find it really hard to believe that someone, at sometime in the development process of this app, would fail to realize that the thing needs a simple 'save' command.....sheesh. I open it up and everything is moved around and no, clicking on the 'load order' option does not put everything back the way it was. WB is a good tool--a necessity in some instances, but not being able to lock load order (which *was* available for Oblivion) is one serious faux paus.

I'm starting to wonder if this tool is dead. No updates on sourceforge in over a year and this problem with the load order being randomly alphabetized has never been addressed. Ordering the plugins is one of the main reasons to use this tool and it is SEVERELY CRIPPLED without its function. I understand there is a lack of talented people interested in developing this tool. That is such a shame because this was the most useful and critical tool for in depth, meticulous control of the mods we play. It's just a shadow of the powerful tool it used to be. This makes me sad.

Not dead just moved. It's here: https://github.com/wrye-bash/wrye-bash/releases/tag/v305. I hope the load order issue has been fixed.
