Xaranth
Worked fine before what? What does it do, does it crash or does it just sit there doing nothing?
Deseoso
I am having the exact same issue. When double click the GECK executable file it opens the GECK. I then click on File then on Data and it opens a window listing all of the ESM and ESP filles that can be worked on. I double click on FalloutNV.esm and then Okay and it takes about a tenth of a second to load almost nothing. It does load something but I'm not sure what. For example, after loading I can find DefaultAshPile1 and DefaultAshPile2 in the Activator section under World Objects but nothing else. Where should the GECK files be? I have them in the Fallout New Vegas folder. Should they be in the Data folder as someone suggested to me? Problem is that I put the Geck.exe into the Data folder and tried it and it said it couldn't find a certain DLL file. Then I moved that DLL into the data folder and it couldn't find another DLL file. In the end I moved Geck.exe, ssce5432.dll, GDFFalloutNV.dll, libvorbis.dll and libvorbisfile.dll into the Data folder. Then when I double clicked on the Geck.exe the GECK started up and then crashed as soon as it tried to load anything. As my GECK came with my purchase of Steam I replaced it with the NV Geck directly from Bethesda's website and started over. Same thing. HELP!!! Oh, and I am running this with XP in case it matters. Deseoso
Okay, That makes absolutely no sense at all. I just tried the GECK again and suddenly it works. I have done absolutely nothing different from what I did earlier when it wouldn't work. Okay, guess my problem is solved. I just wish I knew how. Well, I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. I'm off to use the GECK before it changes its mind about working.
