Skyrim TV HDMI-cabled resolution detection issue

Hi everyone,

I detected a problem some minutes ago when I first tried to play Skyrim with my new HDMI cable.

I am using my PC which communicates with my TV with the HDMI cable.

Before that I was using a normal VGA cable and there was no problem.

Can someone help me?

P.S. when I try to play it a messageBox with an error occurs telling me that the resolution setting is too LOW to let Skyrim run (which is crazy 'cause in my scree settings on the PC it is set as 1600x900).

Thanks a lot.

First check and see if your TV can handle that resolution. I thought 1920x1080 was the highest you could go on a 1080p TV.

I have had this same problem using HDMI on my TV. The resolution would just not work right with the HDMI cable but no problem with the VGA cable. According to some of my friends who work in the sound industry they say HDMI is evil. How it was explained to me was, it is like a constant fight between the video and sound for priority which screws up the signal even if you use a different audio cable for your sound. Anyway I stopped using it and have had no problems since.
