exanimis
Just use 7zip as if it were any other zip file. I've never had any problems with RAR files after doing that.
maverickman
it doesn't even download as a 7zip. it just downloads straight on to my desktop as a .rar file and when i put it in the data file on oblivion and load the oblivion launcher, it doesn't recognise it
exanimis
It may be an RAR file but you still need to unzip it. If you have 7zip you can right click on the rar and choose 7zip from the list. On the next window choose extract here. Move each of the extracted files to the proper folder in your data folder and the mod should work. If you don't have 7zip then google it and download it. bben46
RAR and 7z are both other forms of zipped files. 7-zip will work on RAR, 7z, zip, tugzip and many other formats of compressed files. It's also FREE! unlike winrar which allows you to use it for 30 days then asks for payment. 7-zip is available for download right here on the Tesnexus, here: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15579
maverickman
thanks bben for explaining what 7zip is. all these mods have opened up a whole new world in oblivion now. thanks for the help!
thebigba
something I can help with :-) BBen is right 7 zip can be used to extract file formats such as .rar, .zip, .ace and . 7zip Another program and, i might add the best one imo, is Winrar. you can google winrar, and download it from the rarlabs website. True it asks for a payment after 30 days but that does not lock it up after 30 days... It is still 100% usuable even if after 30 days you dont pay for the so called full version. cheers
